Meet the PAHS featured pet of the week--Lester!
Lester is a 5-year-old male Terrier mix who must be neutered before adoption. He came to PAHS as a stray who was found out in the county; and no owner claimed him. Lester is black with white markings; and he weighs 24 pounds. This handsome guy is good with other dogs and would be fine with older children. He loves to go outside and play; and if you are very lucky--he will dance with you! Maybe he should be on "Dancing with the Stars"! Lester is friendly, active, and fun to be around--what else could you ask for in a great new friend? This little fellow is ready to go home with his new family!



Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Your pet will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a spay/neuter certificate which will help with the cost of spay/neuter. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.

Prattville Autauga Humane Shelter is hiring a full time Kennel Technician. The position requires availability to work weekends. Must be 21 years of age.
Job Summary: Responsible for daily care of shelter animals and providing client services. Offers support to volunteers.
Working Environment: Work is performed in an animal shelter with possible exposure to animal bites, infectious organisms or zoonotic diseases (diseases of animals transmissible to humans), and cleaning chemicals. Daily exposure to high noise levels. Will be working year round in the elements. Must be able to work as a team. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Please come by the shelter, complete a job application, and schedule an interview with our Shelter Director. Pay will be based upon your experience.
