This is what we have trained for! Penelope is almost 9 months old and is on the move! She goes right for Echo’s feet and pokes at her shiny toenails.
This is why I have spent HOURS working with our dogs to ensure they aren’t reactive to parts of their body being touched. Echo is only 2 years old and this is her first experience with a baby. So you will notice I am verbally reassuring her and petting her reinforcing her good behavior.
A few take aways from this 40 second interaction:
-Work with and handle a dogs feet, ears, mouth, body
-Teach your dog NEVER to step on you, it makes it much easier to teach them not to step on tiny humans
-NEVER leave a baby or child alone around dogs
-Do not allow a child to interact with a dog you do not know or trust 100%
-Never let babies or children be rough, pull, or sit on any dog ever
Start them young, 11 days old… Raising the skin puppy to sleep through our chaos we call life 👶🏻💤🐶
Have you socialized your dog today?
Echo and I swung into Home Depot and they have their animated Decorations up. It’s GREAT practice for your pups. Echo got to meet a scary deer!

Echo loves hanging with the “big dogs” 💜💜
Wilma Update!!
Wilma has learned the “Sit” command!
Big day for her! She even made a lap around the training center on the leash for the first time. Don’t mind our mess, I did a little spring cleaning and brought all the dog toys in from outside. Wilma has been rearranging the pile since I brought it in!

⭐️Go Little Rockstar⭐️
Wilma is making great progress. She hangs out with me on most weekends and a big part of her training has been walking on the leash. Wilma HATES the leash. So, in order to make the leash less awful we combine ot with her favorite thing… food! Check out her progress! When the video starts she’s very nervous and apprehensive. She’s not impressed I’m holding the end of her leash. About 1/2 way through the video she get the game and decides “walking” on the leash isn’t so bad. She even comes in for some pets at the end! 💜
Big day for foster puppy Wilma! She’s really coming out of her shell! She loves making new friends! You can really see the “puppy” in her behavior lately which really makes me smile!
In even bigger news… Wilma walked outside of the house on her own today! Sounds small, but this is a huge step for her! Love seeing her progress!!

Leash Training Day 2
Day 2 of leash training we played with Wilma’s leash while she was eating and also checked to see if she would guard her food.
Wilma did great! Leash training is a very slow process. Sometimes we are looking for progress week over week and not day over day. It’s important to not try and push the dog farther that they are ready for. Wilma won’t walk on leash yet, but she’s closer than yesterday.
