Did you know if you feed dry kibble food you should add 4 cups of water to every cup of dry food? Dogs require 85% moisture for their body to biologically pull the hydration it requires daily! Dry food only has about 10%. If fed a biologically appropriate diet for a dog or cat, their body can pull the moisture to obtain the required hydration needed for organ health! 🫀🫁🧠
Raw animal protein is crucial in optimal cellular health of our animals. Their body was built to function off of meat & organs from animals. The animals they eat supply the nutrients their bodies need to function by also supplying the micro & macronutrients their body recognizes & is required to thrive! When feeding an over processed dry food, the nutrients are depleted in the process. We like to help people understand what they are feeding & how we can create a better bowl at each meal! We had the pleasure to meet our oldest furry customer to date! This is PIC (partner in crime)and he’s a 25 year old chihuahua/dachshund mix. He was found by a river and he was guessed to be about 4 years. 21 years later he came to visit us! His human told us so many fun stories of how he’s lived his life, without medications & vaccinations. He’s been fed a raw diet all his life. He still hikes every day! Pic has lived his best life & shows only little signs that he’s starting to slow down a bit. We saw a happy little guy with clear eyes, soft fur & fully alert. We were so excited to have met Pic & his awesome human!
Just another success story of a dog living a long & healthy life on a biologically appropriate diet! If you want help with your pup’s diet, we can help! We hope to see many more dogs live to be in their 20’s! This is more in line with their appropriate life span! 🥣

We opened our pet supply store to help dogs & cats with biological nutritional needs, natural supplements, safe treats, nourishment in the freezers, a place to wash them with warm water & waist level baths, nutrition advice & accessories because our German Shepherd, Kelcee, lost her life to a cocktail of meds from vets. When really all she needed was a species appropriate food to support her immune system. We didn’t know that back then until we became educated & certified in nutrition. We are passionate about helping pet parents in Prescott & the surrounding towns! And we’ve saved countless pets since opening in 2020, all because of our beloved Kelcee.

Good information! We have shoes in store specifically for these hot days! Please consider using shoes or walking them only on grassy areas during the summer heat! We’ve seen the painful results of burnt paws. We’ve also helped heal them. But to avoid it happening is so much better for everyone involved! 🐾

Pet Safety Tips:
*Avoid prolonged exposure to hot asphalt, sand, or similar surfaces that can burn your pet's paws.
*Walk your pet on the grass, if possible.
*Avoid strenuous exercise on extremely hot days.
*Take walks in the early morning, or evening when the sun's heat is less intense.

A popular topic in store is always what your vet recommends for food. What we educate on is the difference between dry food & raw foods. When we understand what your animal needs & what’s in the ingredients of the food you feed, you create a healthy life for them. A strong immune system starts in the gut, just like us. When fed the food that’s biologically appropriate for them, their immune system has the strength it needs. But just like us, when it’s fed a lot of sugar each day the body develops inflammation that leads to all kinds of problems. It’s important to know how to read an ingredient list & how to calculate a carbohydrate percentage. Carbs=Sugar = diseases. It’s no different than feeding cereal for every meal of every day! 🥣

I do research daily to stay up to date for the health of our animals! I thought this would be a good one to share!

"Compared to the commonly known dry foods, fresh foods are processed at relatively lower temperatures and pressures. They also have a higher proportion of fresh meats, which increases the proportions of protein and fat in the food. Finally, fresh foods must be refrigerated after processing to prevent spoilage. Conversely, dry foods have higher proportions of carbohydrates and lower fat contents. Moreover, the drying process allows these diets to be shelf stable. Thus, a dry pet food will be made from different ingredients and through different processes than a fresh diet. As a result, there are differences in the nutrient profile of the diets and the nutrient availability to the animal, which could in turn influence the nourishment of the animal."
