So many cats suffer from eating an inappropriate diet. Diets that are pushed by large companies and veterinarians. Do you know how much nutritional education your pets veterinarian has? Ask them and find out!

Cats are obligate carnivores. They are designed to eat protein, and fat. They have a zero carbohydrate requirement. The cats enzymes in physiology tells us that cats must eat a meat based diet.
Our goal is to mimic the cats in the wild. When feeding an extruded or dry cat kibble, they are fed a biologically inappropriate food that is sprayed with synthetic vitamins to meet basic minimum requirements and has a high carb content. When high heat extrusion changes the DNA of proteins it can lead to cancers, nutritional deficiencies and breakdown of the organs. The carbohydrate that is put in a kibble to bind it together, creates weight gain in which then leads to diseases like diabetes.
Biologically appropriate diet for a cat is a high moisture, high protein, moderate fat, and no carbohydrate. A dry kibble food is the opposite of this requirement.
A raw diet is the most species & biologically appropriate way to feed the cats. If we mimic the wild, we feed them fresh meat & organs. If the cat is overweight, we choose a lower fat diet. Cats can’t produce taurine and they must get it from animal protein. We also regulate blood sugar with protein. Cats produce 20 times less pancreatic amylase (digestive enzyme) than dogs. And they only synthesize 11 amino acids a day when the requirement is 22 per day. So we need to feed a high quality protein.
The transition from a dry food to a species appropriate can be a rough road. They get addicted to that food & can refuse new food so we go on a journey to health. Sometimes it’s long but others love it right away. In the end, we know transitioning them will extend their life & they will feel good! 🥣
