🐾 Fun Fact Friday! 🐾

Did you know there is special toothpaste just for dogs? We carry three flavors of the C.E.T.® Enzymatic Toothpastes, Vanilla Mint, Seafood, and Poultry, as well as tooth brushes. It's easier then you may think to brush your dog's teeth and it can help prevent plaque buildup between dentals.

According to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), by 2 years of age, approximately 80% of dogs have some form of periodontal disease. Dental care is a priority starting early in the animal’s life and remaining throughout their adult life. The goal of various preventative methods is to reduce plaque, freshen breath, and protect the periodontal tissues from damage caused by plaque accumulation.

Heartworm prevention for dogs is an important part of providing essential care, and heartworm disease prevention for dogs is something every owner can do. Heartworms are spread by mosquitoes, so any area that has mosquitoes, even just a few of them, can also have heartworm disease. Heartworm preventives are safe, relatively inexpensive and easy to give, but if a dog becomes infected, heartworm treatment can be costly and difficult, requiring multiple veterinary visits and months of exercise restriction.

While black cats have been known to be a sign of bad luck, they are also considered to be signs of good luck and positive associations in many cultures in history.

A modern Scottish superstition says that a black cat appearing on your doorstep is a sign of future prosperity, while Welsh lore states that a black cat brings good health. Sailors in England once believed that black cats brought good luck and good weather to their travels. In Japan, some people believe that crossing paths with a black cat will give them luck in their love life, while others believe they will simply become overall luckier in their lives.
