Our name is Catty S-h-a-c-k- Sweetpea's Haven for Abandoned Cats & Kittens. Our hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Catty Shack is a non-profit.

I (Susan) have been rescuing cats from the streets since 2011, under the name of Community Cats. My focus is on non-feral cats and kittens that are already on the street and in crisis because of it. I have rescued feral moms along with their kittens. The feral moms are trapped, neutered and returned (TNR) to an area that is monitored and has feeding stations. I keep the kittens and socialize them

so they can find good homes. We do not get any funding from the state. We rely on your donations - monetary, every day supplies and volunteers. We are forever in need of all three, especially cat food - wet & dry - adult & kitten (no tuna please). We also need litter - clumping and non-clumping. Litter boxes. Cat towers for the cats to play on. Cleaning supplies such as bleach and paper towels. We also need volunteers who are willing to come to the house and simply sit and play with the cats to help them learn to be social. Also, to be there when people want to come out and "interview" our gang before adopting one. Nina and Raven, two bonded siblings returned to us as there was a new baby in the house. They are sweet and gentle 2 year olds with Raven being a little on the shy side but non aggressive. Two of our alumni who were adopted this month are Ember and Cinder. They were found with their mom Calliope in an open tub at the side of the road along with their brother Asher when they were about 5 weeks old. Asher was adopted earlier but these two girls got the joy of being adopted together to a wonderful home when we are told they are running the place! Good girls! #

Here is one of our highly intelligent, above average , superior and highly advanced kittens who taught herself how to use the litter box without the benefit of a moms training! People often ask us if our cats and kittens are litter box trained. Of course they are!

Beautiful mom Cream is going to her new home now@that she has her 4 kittens weaned and her dentals done. No more kittens for you. Now you get to be the baby for a change. Such a sweet girl!

Two more girl sisters who got to adopted together are Arabica and Jojo. These two girls were part of 5 sisters dumped in a field in Chino. Taken in to foster they proved to be a lovely group! Their adopters said they were getting rid of their TV now that they have the girls for entertainment! Precocious duo! !

Have you ever seen a sweeter or more sincere face than Bobbie’s. When found she was so starved and emaciated, she couldn’t walk. Her finder set her up with a safe space and began feeding and caring for her. She was obviously not a street cat and probably dumped when her owner moved or died. She is at he Catty Shack now and has one of the sweetest dispositions around. Approximately 4 years old, Bobbie loves to be brushed, petted and likes to climb cat trees. She is a special girl.

Look what just arrived from Chewy! A Calliope! Actually Calliope arrived last summer with her 3 kittens. They had been left in an open tub out in coyote country. Luckily she’s a smart mom who kept her family together until help arrived. A beautiful, sleek gray tabby, friendly, playful and waiting for her own home

This is Churro, one of our moms from last kitten season. She is beautiful, friendly and will even help you do the dishes! An all around good girl who likes to play, be petted and engage with whatever is going on around her!

We don’t know what happened to mom but we are so glad you found us! Weighing in at 10 ozs, these little guys are adjusting to the excellent foster care being given to them. Won’t be long until they are running around getting underfoot!

We got a call on these 5 two week old kittens found in a barn. After waiting two days for the mom to return we were called for help. Thankfully all are well and have learned to latch and drink! Go Kittens Go!

THE NEW CATTY SHACK!

Have we told you or did you know? We were gifted a house at the end of 2020 to have our rescue kitties in and to host the public as they look for their newest family member. We have heating and cooling plus twice the space we had before. And we have 2 catios along with a laundry room. It is a game changer for Community Cats Inc and the kitties who need to come in off the street. Here’s a shot of the walk, porch and entrance to the new Shack. More to come.

Remember our little fellow Nemo, the little guy who was much smaller than his siblings and couldn’t latch on? Well, it seems he can’t catch a break. After mastering the art of latching and packing on the weight, it seems he is having trouble with his back legs. He has a vet appointment tomorrow to investigate the issue. Wish him luck....he’s a fighter!
