How could you not be all smiles looking at these two!?! Thanks to Kristina Ganyon and her dedication with fostering these two cuties (Peanut and Mabel) have gotten a real chance to live happy lives! Mabel has certainly had her fair share of medical attention lately, we can’t wait to share her story with you guys and the obstacles she has overcome! More to come soon on these kiddos… 🐾

As if Dr. Matteson wasn’t cool enough as it is 😎, she also does special work with Calvert Marine Museum with some of their wildlife! Opossums are not pets and do require special licenses to work with but they are super cool to learn about. If you get the chance to visit, “The Calvert Marine Museum is a public, non-profit, educational, regionally oriented museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, research, and interpretation of the culture and natural history of Southern Maryland.”

Patient of the week: Gunnar was such a delight during his visit today! Brought in by his mom Kim who you could tell works very hard with him on training. He was the definition of regal. Good job Gunnar 🐾

It’s currently 30 degrees F outside but feels like 18 due to wind chill, please be mindful when letting your animals outside not to leave them out for long periods. Just like people, pets' cold tolerance can vary from pet to pet based on their coat, body fat stores, activity level, and health. Be aware of your pet's tolerance for cold weather, and adjust accordingly. Check under your tires and hood before starting vehicles as many animals will seek shelter in these areas to shield from the cold. Be safe and bundle up ❄️

As 2024 wraps up we look forward to seeing what 2025 brings for PFAH. We by far have the best clients in the SOMD area. Many of you we have celebrated with as new puppies and kittens came along, cried with helping loved ones cross rainbow bridge, built relationships with people that have the same passion for animals as we do, met a lot of new faces and continued with those who have been with us since the beginning. We wish your family a wonderful and safe new year 🐾

We will be closed until Friday 12/27. We wish you all a safe holiday but if you find yourself in an emergency situation here is information for AAVEC. They work very hard to care for your animals in emergency situations please be kind to staff as wait times may be increased 🐾

It is common for us to have increased wait times over the holidays. We will do our best to get your pet treated as quickly as we can but please be aware, we prioritize patients based on their status as critical, urgent or stable. We may have extremely sick or injured pets in the ICU. Our team will do their very best to accommodate you as reasonably as they can.

We ask for your understanding as we work to help as many pets as possible. Our staff thanks you in advance for your kindness, compassion and patience.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. We have a Good Samaritan that has been working on finding the owners of this kitty. This sweet kitty is microchipped, however it looks like it was not registered. If you are missing a kitty near Prince Frederick please reach out to us to confirm microchip number. We would love to reunite with family if possible.
