🚨 WE DO NOT HAVE A SINGLE OPEN KENNEL! 🚨

Even our awful outside “dungeon” kennels are filled up. We only want to use them to move dogs around while cleaning inside kennels, but yet here we are with no other choice.

We have one more dog than we have kennels right now, which is why Waylon is hanging out with us in the front office. Because we literally have nowhere for him to go right now.

We had 3 dogs brought in at once that took up the only 2 last kennels we had and one went into Waylon’s, so now sweet Waylon will have to live in a crate until we get space. And we don’t have any more space for crates after this, so what are we supposed to do when more dogs inevitably come in tomorrow?

Please, please, please - we really need your help right now! If you can foster a dog for any amount of time, or have been looking to adopt, now is the time! It’s even harder on us with the Delaware mandate that we can’t send dogs into the state, because many of our adopters come from there.

We are happy to answer any questions and would love to have anyone interested join our team of fosters. Please take a look at all of the dogs we have available for adoption, and consider taking one in either temporarily (we’d decide who) or permanently ❤️

Saddle repair and cleaning finished.
There's a new horn cover, customized stirrup fenders, stirrup leathers, billets and keepers, and new conchos.
Now taking repair work.

🐾 EXTENDED HOURS - In an effort to try to increase adoptions, we are extending our hours on Tues & Wed in June by appointment only. If you have an approved adoption application and would like to come meet a cat or dog or adopt after hours until 7 PM on either of those days, please email [email protected] and we will set that up.

(A huge thank you to Best Friends Animal Society for a grant to help this!)

🐾 DOG WALKERS NEEDED - We are still desperately in need of dog walkers each day! When we’re this full, we really need volunteers to help to make sure all dogs get at least 2 walks a day. June is always one of our slowest months. If you have any time to spare Tues-Fri 11:30-4:30 or Sat 11:30-3:30 to walk even one dog, you would be making the world of difference!

We’d love if your business or team wants to make it fun and join us for our June Dog Walking Challenge too!

🐾 ADOPTION EVENT VOLUNTEERS - if you can help take one of our dogs to Ocean Down’s Casino for our Ducks & Dogs Adoption Night on Sunday 6/9 (or 6/23) to meet a large crowd of people and potential forever families, it would be so helpful! The event is from 7-9, but you can either keep a dog for the weekend (with an approved foster app) or you can pick up between 5-5:30 on Sunday and return them around 9:30 when we are back to the shelter. Please email [email protected] if you can help.

🐾 FOSTERING - we need both kitten and dog fosters (especially bottle baby kittens). If you have a spare room and can offer a sleepover with some of our guests for any amount of time, we’d be so grateful! If you can even just take a dog out for the day or back to your office to relax, that’s very beneficial for their mental health as well. (wicomicohumane.org/foster)

New work or dress belts anyone?You can't get these belts in the store. They might look the same but believe me they don't feel the same. These are heavy, soft, smooth and flexible at the same time. You want a belt to last, these will.
I guarantee my belts to last your lifetime or I will replace them.
