I was contacted recently by a Set Decoration Buyer/Coordinator of the upcoming movie: Jurassic Park World Domination III. They asked me (Creek Bottom Taxidermy LLC) to create a shoulder mount of a dinosaur for a potential scene in the upcoming movie! His team found my website and my work caught their attention as did 3 other taxidermists from across the nation. There were 4 dinosaur species to choose from and I picked my favorite, Triceratops. I got to pick the color scheme/pattern for it and I loosely used a Chameleon for my inspiration. They also wanted it mounted on some sort of a backdrop. I created a rock/wood/moss one. I have sent in several photo samples and not sure the timeline to find out if I'm choosen or not, but I wanted to share my work with you!

A customer caught a great Mahi-Mahi in Mexico and had it mounted down there, but it had some issues before it arrived at their door!

Here was my work order at Creek Bottom Taxidermy LLC:
-Completely repaint body and fins as the colors are all wrong and the pattern is incorrect round and comma shaped and black, not blue irregular shaped
-Fix broken fins
-Fix damage that face, body, and tail
-Replace eyes as they’re incorrect, scratched, and hazy

This 8 year old’s first turkey was Leucistic/Silver phase bearded hen in western South Dakota.

Vaughn Siver shot the smoke phase or leucistic bearded hen while hunting with his dad in western South Dakota.

A nice batch of euro mounts completed and also a first for me! A locked deadhead! A farmer was checking his land and found these two bucks locked up dead in a pond on his property! Bucks will occasionally get locked up, which is almost always fatal to both bucks. In this case they ended up down in a pond and probably both drown. A triple beam 14 pointer and an 8 pointer.

What goes into creating a unique customer memory of a mount?

Having a conversation with the customer to find out exactly what their vision is and then asking lots of questions, as to what they’d love to see, as well as guiding them to what can be done within their budget, including a ‘rough’ sketch. At that point add the careful attention to detail, expert craftsmanship, passion, and the commitment to delivering a truly exceptional piece of taxidermy art!

Got this shipping frame/box built and shipped out this Largemouth today. It’s filled with foam then wrapped in cardboard. After that the wood box container is wrapped in bubble wrap and then placed in a second box and filled with packing peanuts to fill in any voids!
