Proper Hoofcare isn’t just about the hooves. The difference in this mare's posture is astonishing after just one trim and shows how vital hoofcare is for the whole horse.

It’s incredible how a diet change, medication, and some glue on shoes can make a massive difference to their hoof health. As much as I’d like to take credit for this transformation, this all happened because of the owner. I only see horses for 1-2 hours every few weeks. It’s the owner who’s there every day putting in the work.

I’m very happy with the change in his heels after our first trim. Lines aren’t perfect but they give the general idea.

People think that a farrier’s day ends when we get home, and we stop thinking about your horse when we leave your barn. My work day never stops. I’m constantly thinking about how I can improve, what I could’ve done better, and what the next step is to set these horses up for success.
Horses and their owners relying on you to do what’s best for their hoof health is extremely stressful but also very rewarding. I’m proud of the progress we've made with this mare and many others ❤️ it makes all the stress, long days, and many miles worth it

This handsome boy is Harley 💕 and he reminded me of some very important things today:
- Listen to the horse
- Always strive to be better than you were yesterday

Harley loves attention and can stand still for hours if it means he’ll get groomed and given kisses and cookies. Unfortunately, he stands like he’s on an invisible pedestal. We’ve made good progress with his hooves. He’s growing healthy heel, his toes are back, and his HPA has significantly improved. I was so excited to see a much healthier hoof!
But... he still stood like he was uncomfortable. So, his owner and I brainstormed and tried something new. And, amazingly, Harley immediately stood square on his own! I honestly didn’t think it would make such a difference for him. He reminded me that every horse has different needs and should be treated as an individual.
Horses will tell you when something’s wrong.. listen to them.

I think my new reason for working out is to be able to hold this cutie’s head up while I trim his auntie 💕
