For a while Savior and I got a little bit stuck. I couldn’t get comfortable enough with the groundwork where I wanted to start riding her. So I asked for help. I’m so glad I did! I should have asked for it sooner!! Just a little perspective, encouragement and a few quality tips from a trusted professional put us back in the right direction. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it!! Here is one of Savior’s first few rides. I love how relaxed she looks walking ❤️
Horse shelter going up today!
Today in the life of Savior ❤️🎉🎉
Savior has now been here 2 months and is becoming more and more used to life with humans. She was able to get her teeth floated and dewormed this month. She tries SO HARD, but she still holds so much fear and tension in her body. She has very sudden bolting reactions which we are definitely working through before we start saddle training. 😜
I hope you enjoy watching this months transformation!
Clare gymnastics theme freestyle!! 🤸♂️🤸♀️💕
For the next 3 months or so, I get to work with This sweet mare, Savior. She is not a mustang, but as far as we know, she was completely untouched. She was rescued by Lauren Brubaker from a kill pen where she came in with many other mares from the same facility. We loaded her up Aug 2nd, and brought her here for gentling and training. She is very nicely put together, very athletic, turns on a dime. I can’t wait to get her going under saddle!!
Here is a montage of her first month here at Anzalone Ranch. Her barn name is Savvy around here, she is a cool chic.
I have had the pleasure of training this beautiful boy “Smokey” for the past 2 months. A 2 year old from Spruce Pequop Hma. He had been shuffled through several different homes/trainers since he was picked out of holding last year, so he was still very fearful and reactive. Here is a fun little video of our time together. I wish I had taken more videos of the spooks and bloopers so you could appreciate more how far he has come. He will be going home to his owner tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited for them! Thank you Kimberly Underwood for trusting me with your boy!!
Working on haltering. Clare has been away at camp and we were on vacation, but Blaze didn’t forget his training at all. They are doing great!
He won’t let me touch him but Clare is making a friend.
He is slow to trust, but very calm nd thoughtful. He is available for adoption to a qualified adopter. Message me if you are interested in this sweetheart ❤️
Happy snorts
Good morning!! Still a little snorty but he is coming around 💕 The past few days he has learned to stand for fly spray, been hosed down, got pets and scratches all over, and is much easier to catch. Yay Ty!
