Today was her 2nd grooming. I groom her and her twin sister every 6 weeks. I forgot to take a photo of her sister. These two big doggys gave my left shoulder a workout de-shedding them today. They are both such happy and friendly doggys.

So incredibly impressed by deluxe doggy cuts robert! Look how amazing Moose Willis looks. And so soft and smells so good. My newst client. She gets groomed every 6 weeks. She was a little kiddish at first. This lucky girl was just refused a little while ago and now had a great home. Once she got on the table she started to relax being around someone she did not know. She did so good.

It was this girls 3rd grooming. The first one she was shaved down to restart the coat. Her coat has grown in nicely and there was not one tangle in her whole coat and her coat is curly. Her parents do an awesome job keeping her coat in good condition. The first time we had to shave her because the breeder gave them bad info and said her first groom should come at 6 to 8 months old. If you have a doodle puppy and anybody tells you a new doodle puppy should be be groomed for 6 or 8 months they are dead wrong. This girl gets groomed every 6 weeks now. Currently she is being cut on the shorter side but not shaved. On curly haired doodles the longer the coat the more maintenance it takes from the parent to brush and comb out regularly between appointments. Doodles are a bit different because due to the way they are bread they both have a top coat of hair and an undercoat of hair. In the normal dog breed world months that have an undercoat do not have a curly top coat. They undercoat is more of an insulation for some breeds. And undercoat will grow so long and then needs to be removed by the de-shedding process. Which is basicly pulling to old dead undercoat out from under the top coat. But on a doodles the top coat is curly and is like our hair were it continues to grow. if they go to long without being groomed their coat will get matted a lot faster because and undercoat will start to curly with the top coat that just keeps growing and at a certain point you can not longer get the Mats out and the coat will need to be shaved off and started over. Doodles are a very high maintenance breed especially if the coat is curly. Luckily this Doodle has great parents that keep the coat in great condition. As I said I did not find even one tangle in her coat today and this photo is after I finished. I cut about 1.5 inches off the body and 5 off the head. They went with the shorter doodles head. On a side note this doodles is still very young and is very well behaved on the grooming table. The best part is she let's me groom her legs without flinching. I don't know why but a lot of doodles just don't like their legs being held. LoL.

This one is of the grooming of the body.

People wonder why it cost so much to groom a doodle. Here are two full unedited videos. One is of the blow-drying of the coat. Took about 43 minutes, the 2nd video is just the hair cut on the body. Which took about 32 minutes. Keep in mind this video does not include the prep-work and bath which took about 40 minutes. And the the grooming of the head that took about another 20 minutes. I ran out of space to record the grooming of the head. Also it was raining and very humid this day so this added about 15 minutes to the blow-dry and cut to get a smooth finish. This is a pet cut so most of it was don't with clippers and then scissors for the legs and face. . Facebook will not let me post them together so I'll make two post. This is the blow dry.
