Winter maintenance on the fields are slightly harder due to the inbetween of frozen grounds and then mud when it gets warmer ! ☀️ ❄️

We jump right on the opportunity when the ground is at a perfect condition to be able to drag them and keep it clean.

Hay bags are used for stall horses but can also be used for outside field horses. Hay bags are used to slow down the horses from eating their hay ensuring that it last longer.

Immediate Hiring in Princeton New Jersey

Stony Brook Stables is actively seeking an Assistant Barn Manager to support our expanding facility.
The responsibilities of the Assistant Barn Manager will include mucking stalls, managing the turnout and intake of horses, assisting boarders, providing riding lessons, engaging with prospective clients interested in boarding or lessons, supporting summer camps, organizing pony parties, and more.

We are looking for a candidate who is at least 21 years of age, possesses prior equestrian experience, has management experience, and demonstrates strong customer service skills. Additionally, candidates must have reliable transportation to and from work, maintain effective phone communication, and be available to work on weekends. Pay will be based on experience.

We let the horses have their blankets off to enjoy this 60 degree day and they took full advantage of rolling in the mud !

It’s important to take off their blankets during the winter to keep track of their weight as blankets can hide a lot !

Mud = happy horses !

Lunge line lessons are great for developing the feel of their gaits ( walk,trot,canter),maintaining your rhythm and balance, finding your posture and so much more ! 🚨 Lessons will Resume the week of June 12th,2023 🚨 The AQI is still high ( but improving) as the days go on but we also need a day or two for the horses to recover with breathing fresh air. It’s important for our horses to recover from breathing this air before we bring them back into lessons. All lessons will be light before we bring them back to our normal program, this will help their lungs build back up to what they were previous to the unhealthy AQI. ☀️Message us now to book your lesson ☀️
