I'm often asked if I carry venomous snakes.
Um... NO.
I cant even walk a straight line without falling and requiring 30+ stitches. What makes you think I would be able to 100% guarantee that I could focus long enough to avoid a deadly strike, or not get distracted and leave a cage open???
To many 'what ifs' to ever take a chance.
So NO. I DONT carry deadly critters.

Before I retire for the evening, I want to express an appreciation for all of the positive energy you have brought through the door since the beginning of the year. I have felt a lifting of spirits and a greater understanding of the plight of small business and your positive move toward prioritizing shopping small and local. I see everyone beginning to understand that if you don't spend money in our stores, we won't be here for you with the personal service you have come to expect.

PSA to my customers.
Going forward with 2025, I have made the personal and professional decision to delete any negativity from the store page.
This is NOT to avoid the opportunity to learn and grow from CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, but merely an deliberate attempt to spread positivity this year.
As many of you know (because you are personal friends also) 2024 almost broke me on every level. One of the major contributors to my breakdown was constant criticism from concerned citizens and uniformed critics. 99% of the time, there was a reasonable explanation for whatever the issue was, but I spent an inordinate amout of time and mental energy to dispell false information and flat out lies. I almost shut the store down because of it all, and that would have been a disservice to the community and my mission here, which stretches far beyond the pet store industry.
So, if you have a criticism/concern of me, the store or how I run things, I am happy to address it if you approach me privately in a message, but I will NOT allow it on the page.
If you choose to involve authorities before coming to me, I will call you out in public and allow those who know me, know my heart, know my mission to address your misinformation or unwarranted judgement.
Thank you in advance for your loyalty over the past 7 years. I intend to make this year fun and focus on positivity while incorporating education, interaction and EXPERIENCE ....and hopefully make enough money to keep the doors open.

The Blue Socatra is out and about today. Come and check him out before he retreats back to his hidey hole. If live spiders aren't your thing, I have a large assortment of beautiful beaded arachnids to adorn your house or give to the spider lover in your life. I also have a pink toe and a Regal jumping spider available, along with 8 legged earrings, bracelets and figurines. There are also signs, and enclosures (new and used). Let's Make a Deal!!

Look who made an appearance just in time for Christmas. Mr. Blue Socatra Baboon!! He must have gotten bored in his hidey hole! He HAS done some growing while he was down there! It was awesome to see him out and about!!

A new beginning....

In January of 2018, Lori Boekeloo became the proprietor of the new and improved TANKS Pet Supply. She added the addendum to the name by adding Boek-el-ZOO as a play on her own last name. It also reflected her desire to create a zoo environment at the store, encompassing education and interaction with the animals there. Though the store has gone through many changes over the years, one thing remained constant- a passion for pets. Lori worked in pet stores through her college years, both corporate and ‘mom and pop’ stores. 30 years passed and she began working part time at TANKS in the winter of 2017. Paired with her love of children and education, Lori plans on bringing that aspect to the store by hosting field trips and educational programs in the recently remodeled Bob Miller Learning Center at the rear of the store. Lori has the goal of making the NEW TANKS a fun place to come and learn and explore. She wants to provide unique experiences and encounters with animals and breeds not commonly seen. There will be workshops and opportunities to socialize with other animal lovers and enthusiasts. So come and see what she has to offer!
