I will be including pet supplies also...dog food (wet/dry), cat food (wet/dry), treats...

In an effort to help with food insecurities through this uncertain time while the government is shut down, I will be placing a table at the front of the store for people to come and donate non-perishable food items and to come and 'shop' through the food items and take whatever they need to fill this gap.
I will not be checking any expiration dates, and please dont bring things that are already opened. I will have bags available to take things home. It will be a self serve situation with no judgement. I will ask that you be respectful.
My open hours are listed in the profile picture on the page. If it is inconvenient to drop food at those times, you may leave donations at the back door. In case of inclement weather, please plan accordingly.
I am hoping that this temporary set back can unite us with an outpouring of love and compassion instead of creating a greater divisiveness. I have seen and been a recipient of the generosity of this community and know what we are capable of 🥰

A new beginning....

In January of 2018, Lori Boekeloo became the proprietor of the new and improved TANKS Pet Supply. She added the addendum to the name by adding Boek-el-ZOO as a play on her own last name. It also reflected her desire to create a zoo environment at the store, encompassing education and interaction with the animals there. Though the store has gone through many changes over the years, one thing remained constant- a passion for pets. Lori worked in pet stores through her college years, both corporate and ‘mom and pop’ stores. 30 years passed and she began working part time at TANKS in the winter of 2017. Paired with her love of children and education, Lori plans on bringing that aspect to the store by hosting field trips and educational programs in the recently remodeled Bob Miller Learning Center at the rear of the store. Lori has the goal of making the NEW TANKS a fun place to come and learn and explore. She wants to provide unique experiences and encounters with animals and breeds not commonly seen. There will be workshops and opportunities to socialize with other animal lovers and enthusiasts. So come and see what she has to offer!
