Even though the doors are officially only open for sales for limited hours, that doesn't mean the Zoo Crew isn't busy promoting education, interaction and awareness.
Today we welcomed 6 classes of ECE students from Douglas for a wonderful interactive experience. The teachers took all of the pictures ( that I'm hoping they will share here when they have a moment). I was busy wrangling everything from frogs, to hedgehogs, to burmese pythons, three legged degus and guinea pigs. Everyone had the opportunity to be brave and touch critters they hadn't before.
We learned some new words and even the teachers found out some things they might not have known!!
My 'funny' for the day...
When I was talking about our chinchilla, I said that someone had told me once it felt like a cloud☁️. One little boy petted it and said, 'It DOES feel like a clown!'🤡
Just want to wish everyone a good day at the Scott Smith's All Animal Expo. I am so sad we couldn't make it. Everyone be safe and stay warm. Vendors...sell a lot! Customers..BUY a lot and make it worth their effort. See you on the 28th!!!
