According to the American Veterinary Medical Association here are 7 Ways to Make the Holidays Safer for Pets

Nothing can spoil holiday cheer like an emergency visit to a veterinary clinic. These seven tips can help prevent a holiday disaster with your pets.
1. Keep people food out of the reach of your pet, and ask your guests to do the same.
2. Make sure your pet doesn't have any access to treats, especially those containing chocolate, xylitol, grapes/raisins, onions or other toxic foods.
3. Don't leave your pet alone in the room with lit candles, a decorated tree or potpourri.
4. Keep holiday plants (especially holly, mistletoe and lilies) out of reach of pets.
5. Consider leaving the tinsel off your tree if you have a cat.
6. Secure your Christmas tree to keep it from falling over if your dog bumps it or your cat climbs it. Hanging lemon-scented car air fresheners in the tree may deter your cat from climbing it.
7. Provide a safe place for your pet to escape the excitement (such as a kennel, crate, perching place, scratching post shelf or hiding place) if you’re entertaining guests. If your pet is excitable or scared, consider putting your pet in another room with some toys and a comfortable bed.

I have been getting many calls about the new mystery canine infectious respiratory disease. From what I know so far it is a cough that can easily turn into pneumonia. Unfortunately there is not much information yet, the vets are still learning about it.

What am I doing? I make sure to bleach kennels, tub, and tables between dogs and keep a clean environment.

I completely understand if people would like to cancel appointments until there is more information just please let me know.

If your dogs have had any signs of illness at all please cancel your appointment!

Please avoid dog parks.

Our giving tree is officially up!!! This year we want to help Humane Society of the Ochocos they have a very special place in our hearts as a no kill shelter. As many of you know animal rescue is a huge part of my life and I’m very passionate about it. They are fundraising to get a new building so cash donations are always welcome! Here is a list of things they are in need of now but anything dog or cat related that is in good condition is welcome!

If you have large items please reach out to coordinate so I can make sure to bring my truck to work! (Our lobby isn’t that big lol)

We are open Tuesday-Thursdays 9-4
But don’t be afraid to reach out I can try and stay later or meet people at the shop if needed! 🙂

I will be getting the giving tree up this weekend! But can take donations anytime Tuesday-Thursdays 9-330. If you have a large donation please coordinate with me and I can bring my truck to work that day and deliver to the shelter!

Feel free to bring your donations up to the shelter Tuesday through Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm!

We have some exciting news!

I would like to welcome Arielle to the team she has years of experience as an assistant bathing, drying, nails, glands, and prepping dogs and cats. She has a huge heart and loves all animals, she works in rescue as well! I will be teaching her how to groom! This means eventually we will be able to start taking on new haircut clients!
Learning to groom takes time, but she has the bones and now just needs some guidance! We are both very excited. 🙂

To my amazing clients! It is time I need to raise my prices starting November 1st all clients will be going up $5-$10. With this I have some very exciting news! I am hiring another assistant who is ready to learn to be a full groomer!! so we will be able to get more clients in and maybe even sooner than the 9+ weeks I am booked out now.

Want to give a huge thanks to all my amazing clients for being patient with me this week. I have been down for a week. I am healing and will attempt working this week. I have some amazing friends who will be helping me out so I don’t lift or bend ❤️ I have not been able to get back to all of my voicemails and text messages yet. I have some help this week to start slowly getting everyone back in. I am going to do the best I can to get everyone back on the schedule as quickly as possible! First priority is all the clients I had to cancel last week.

Reminder to all my amazing clients.

Please get your appointments booked, I can schedule all the way to Christmas, bring your calendars and let’s make sure you get the days and times you want. 🙂

I’m still unable to take any new haircut dogs I am booked 8+ weeks out and have to prioritize my amazing long time clients.

If I have not seen your haircut dog in 4+ months I unfortunately can not get them back in at this time. I have to keep up with my regulars who stick to a strict 6-8 week schedule. It is just me and my awesome assistant we can only do so much in a day.

I can still accept a few new short hair bath dogs but no giant breeds, or long haired dogs unfortunately.

I highly recommend Rags To Wags Dog Grooming for anyone looking for their next groomer!

I am still accepting cats, I am booking 6-8 weeks out for them as well. And please remember if your cat is not in a pet carrier at time of appointment I can not accept them.
