Extremely grateful that I had the day off to make sure the animals were ok and I could tend to them but lots of heat, sweat, stress and anxiety for this animal momma! 😅

We had a hay day today!

(Pun intended 😁)

Loaded and unloaded 290 square bales this morning. The boys got a good workout in. 😂 Thank goodness for this beautiful weather and the nice breeze!

Reiki and massage for these ladies before work. (Sped up of course 😘)

The weather is gorgeous so it's finally comfortable enough for them to lay in the sun and relax. 😴

Ruby would get massaged and belly rubbed all day if she could.. Bonnie on the other hand is a little more hesitant. She normally doesn't lay down for me. I've been working with her, esp to kneel down by her without her being pushy. So the fact that she didn't get up quick when I came over to massage her, is a huge step! Sometimes, all we need is a little bit of Reiki to relax and let go. 💖

But, massaging and rubbing starting at a young age is important, esp for vet visits, hoof trims etc, so they aren't so nervous or fearful! ☺️

Oh Bonnie... ❤️😂

This has happened before when she was jumping and we used the whip (nicely) to let her know to keep her distance. I spent an hour looking for the whip the next day and found out she hid it in her house buried under straw. When I found it, Bonnie came in like a wrecking ball and started biting it to take it out of my hands.

Well she got sassy today after she tried to push open her pen door and escape.. I shut the door on her and moved her out of the way and she screamed and squealed like a toddler. She tried again so I grabbed the whip to tell her to back up. She took it from me and ran across the pen with it.

Nice hiding spot, Bon Bon.

Deep clean pig house day!

Pigs keep their sleeping area extremely clean. They don't potty or eat where they sleep. But, with all of the rain, the mud gets caked on the floors. And since pigs don't have sweat glands, a fan is a necessity to keep them cool. So, it makes the house a big dusty mess!

A good deep clean with fresh straw bedding is needed every 2 weeks, if not sooner depending on weather!

Piggy 🐷 pool days. 💦

The girls LOVE to wait until I'm almost done filling a pool with fresh water to walk in it and take a dip. Pools stay clean for .5 seconds. But their excitement is worth it! 😊

Expectation vs reality:

After the nice rainstorm last night, as I was filling the girls' waters this morning, Dottie decided to fly stomp right in front of me. Not captured: the huge mud p**p splatter to the eye. Wiped it before I took the picture.

We just adore when neighbors send us photos of visits to our horses! We truly have such wonderful neighbors here, that love the horses just as much as we do! It brings such joy to our hearts to see moments like these. Our friend and neighbor Max, brought his son to see the horses for the first time- Tequila was excited to meet the new addition!

The girls turned 1 today! 🎂 🥳

When we got our sweet Bonnie and Ruby, we were told they were around 5 1/2 months old.. we don't know exactly when they turn 1, but today would have been close to a year- seemed like the perfect day to celebrate and set a birthday!

They bring us so much joy! They are sweet, sassy and bring SO much unconditional love. I can never get enough of their excited snorts (screams), muddy p**py nose kisses, slobber, rolling over for belly rubs, leaning their whole body weight against me bc they can't get close enough, and following me everywhere. Happy 1st birthday my sweet girls! 🐷

Mother Earth is raining blessings on us right now. We are so ecstatic to see how lush everything will be when she's done 💕

Busy Saturday! But my goodness, what a beautiful day to be outdoors!

Phase 2 of replacing fencing! We appreciate all the love and hard work that was put into all the fencing around the property. It hurts a bit to tear it down, with all the history, but it was well used and loved, and ready to be revamped a bit. Last fall was tearing down, replacing and painting the hay field fence along the road, and we are in phase 1 of the pasture fencing. 370ft we tore down and replaced. Now we just need to paint and start phase two!

Piggy teefs, snoots and ears. They spent their day sunbathing, rooting, and playing in their pool.

I finally caught a glimpse of Bonnie teefers, snapping a photo during her excited hot pants. Aren't they just the best!? 🥰😍😍

Release of the horses to the new pasture! Got phase 1 of our new pipe fencing, completed. Thank you to Bryce Pap at Midwestern Ranch for the new fence install! He also recently installed a Jug automatic waterer in our paddocks- complete game changer! Highly recommend him and his services! The horses were just in heaven!! 🐎
