Ouch! If you have experienced a tooth ache, then you know exactly how painful it can be. There are many reasons that our pets may experience pain from the mouth including fractured teeth, infection, resorptive lesions, and gingivitis.
Our pets aren't able to say "ouch" so how can we determine if their mouth is painful? Our pets instinctively hide their pain; therefore, the signs can be subtle.
Watch out for:
-Dropping food while eating.
-Hesitancy to eat hard kibble, but will eat soft foods
-Teeth Chatter (as if shivering)
-Pawing at the face
-Excessive Drool
-An Odor
-Facial Swelling
-Red or inflamed gums
-Asymmetrical Tarter Build-up
-Chewing on one side of the mouth
If your pet is showing any of these behaviors or symptoms, schedule an appointment to discuss options with your pet's Veterinarian. Your pet may qualify for our Dental Month Promotion. The good news is Dental Disease is fixable as well as preventable!

Flea and Tick Prevention in Autumn
š± Think we donāt see creepy crawly fleas in October in Minnesota? Think again! We just saw and treated a patient with fleas this morning! Now thatās SPOOKY!
This time of year, many start to consider when Flea and Tick prevention becomes unnecessary. Until temperatures consistently stay below freezing, these critters are still a concern. Here in Minnesota, the temperatures can vary greatly during autumn, and even during winter months. While it is true that as temperatures cool down, fleas and ticks become less active. This does not mean they are unable to infest our pets. In fact, they become more desperate to find a host in order to survive. In doing so, they are able to spread a variety of diseases. These critters inhabit our back yards, and a thorough check of your pet is recommended upon coming inside as well as the use of Flea and Tick Prevention.
Thankfully we have many great options for medications to keep you and your pets safe from these pests as well as the numerous diseases they carry! Our staff would be happy to talk to you about to how protect your family!
