Went to the vet yesterday with the pups ๐Ÿถ they all got shots and lots of smiles ๐Ÿค— if anyone is looking for a Dogtor to take care of your animals and you are anywhere near them or even if your not, I highly suggest making the trip to Drs Gragg and Blackwell and their Wonderful staff at Nicholas Animal Hospital in Summersville, WV.

Slobber Dog Love

We are ruled by the happiest herd of slobber slingin, saggy skin havin, fur shedding, huge dirty footed, hushpuppy looking, tails a wagging, farm do**in, rabbit chasing, early morning howlin, dwarf leg having, laying in the floor trip hazard causing, deer p**p eating, dinner time beggin, bath time hiding, wet kiss giving, snoring like a bear, rude jumper uppin, sweetest puppy lovin, food stealing, farting and belching, stubborn as mules, smart as can be, โ€œsweetโ€ hound smellin, dirty ear havin, big grin giving, laugh out loud causing, no step climbin, tons of food eating, long walk lovin, zoomy running, belly up laying, furniture hoggin, deep hound barking โ€ฆโ€ฆ I could go on for days! I started my journey with basset hounds when I was in my early 20s when I purchased my first boy at a flea market for a whopping 20.00. He was a lemon basset and the sweetest, long eared, big footed, hushpuppy looking thing I had ever come across in my life. It was love at first sight and I still get that feeling every time I see a Basset Hound. I never had a herd of dogs like I do now because I was busy working full time and raising kids but now with much more time on my hands and a need to stay busy and active my love for this breed has become an addiction and an obsession of sorts. The addition of Mr. Fredrick Von Freddy Fred has made things so much fun. He is the biggest goof I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and Importing some European lines to the farm over the years has made a huge difference in our puppies. Breeding these big ole Euros is not for the faint of heart though because they are not your average dog. All of our breeding is done via Artificial Insemination right here on the farm so my work starts long before the puppies ever arrive. Our Hounds give us so much everyday that we do our very best to let them be happy dogs.. Our dogs are not kept in kennels or runs. We use a radio fence system and everyone is allowed free run of 10 acres of fields, forests, creeks, mountains and of course all the yard, warm driveway, sidewalks and porches they can stand. They also are allowed in the house and under our feet. We do have a few kennels which I like to call babysitting boxes because there are times that they will need to be put up safely while Iโ€™m away from the farm or if they happen to be grounded (in heat) for a time. No one lives in them or is confined for longer than needed. Our hounds are our pets and are loved and cared for as such.
