The German Shepherd is categorized primarily according to origin and let’s face it Americans, we are behind the curve in the German Shepherd world! West German dogs have a very predictable appearance with rich red and black coloration. Due to the stringent testing prior to breeding, both showline and working lines have the ability to work! East Germany focused on health and had a particular purpos

e: protection and border patrol. The Czech Republic pretty much copied the East German lines with some variation in size and color. The American lines have a negative connotation because so many American breeders have lost track of the true purpose of the breed! Breeding programs are based upon the mass production of a desired phenotype instead of health and workability. Capshaw Kennels and Training intends on taking steps to change this negativity by creating a proprietary line: “ The American Competition Line”
We expect these dogs will have the ability to excel in sport activities as well as protection and detection work while still being competitive in conformation classes. This idea has been in the works since day one of our program, but our hard work should truly be reflected in the planned litters of 2023! It seems like a long time, but Rome wasn’t built in a day!!!!

Nazuri day one!! We have a way to go but this girl is SMART!! It’s the smartest ones that get into trouble! 😉 hopefully we can help her understand how to behave on a leash in all situations! Come on girl let’s make your parents proud!

Maverick

Maverick has changed so much since he came here! He started out an untrained, high drive, high strung ball of energy! Now nearly 8 years old... he has finally calmed down! So anyone asking when do they slow down(slightly)... well 8 may be the magic number!
