Happy Monday! We are so excited for all the delicious food we get to eat this week, and we know your pets are too!

Take a peek at this list to see what is safe vs not safe to feed your pet! Always monitor after giving new foods to ensure no GI upset such as vomiting or diarrhea. Some of the "Not Safe" foods are actually quite toxic and can lead to more severe side effects. If you are concerned whether a food is "toxic", it is always best to just not give it!

UPDATE: Draco was FOUND! He was safe and in the care of WGHS, who were kind enough to hold him for his mama 💕.

Please keep an eye out for this LOST DOG.

He is an adult husky named DRACO who was lost in Whitley Place yesterday. He is very sweet but may be a bit scared and shy. He has a little limp in his back leg from a previous injury.

November 11-15 is Practice Manager Week!

Kayla started out as a Veterinary Assistant while working on her CNA to work in pediatrics, and fell in love with the field almost 5 years ago! She has gone through almost every role in the hospital and recently was promoted to Practice Manager! We love getting to watch her grow as a person and as a leadership figure! 💖

We got some much needed puppy love from Scout today! This sweet guy is 16 weeks old and his new family absolutely adores him! 💞 He loves his balls and bones to chew on! He is already super attached to his new mom! He does not enjoy loud barking and the run-in with the garbage truck really shook him up 😨 But he is being so brave!

Fun Fact about Scout - He is a Cleft Lip/Palate which is a birth defect that occurs when the upper lip doesn't form completely before birth! It gives him character! 😍

🚨 Important Update from the American Animal Hopsital Association (AAHA): Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.

What is Lepto?
Leptospirosis is a bacteria that is transferred through the urine of wildlife, such as rats, deer, opossums, skunks, squirrels, and other small rodents. Pets can get leptospirosis through ingestion of contaminated water, walking through a contaminated area with an exposed cut or wound, or eating infected wildlife (often dead rodents). Once infected, the clinical signs of leptospirosis can vary greatly. Some pets have no symptoms, while others are hospitalized for severe disease, including liver damage, kidney disease, and bleeding disorders.

Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.

Dia de Los Muertos for Pets

❤ A moment of silence in honor of our beloved pets and patients who came to visit today on Dia de los Muertos for pets. ❤ Day of the Dead is a Mexican celebration of loved ones passed away. This holiday is believed to be a time where our passed loves ones visit us from beyond the grave. October 27th is a day specific to memorialize our lost pets. Thank you to everyone who participated and shared images of your pets who have passed. They will forever be in our hearts, and we are so grateful to be a part of their journey on this special day.

UPDATE ON UNIQUE, now named MERCY: IT’S BATH TIME! She had mats removed from her feet and ears, eyes cleaned, and now a nice warm bath. She’s getting all of the love and spoiling. Plus, her anemia is stable! It takes 3-5 days to make new red blood cells, so we’re hoping to see her anemia improve this week with continued supportive care. Send her all of the good vibes!

Update on Unique- I just came up to take her for a potty break, feed her another small meal, and give her a much needed pedicure (she struggles to walk from weakness, and the long nails weren’t helping!). Tomorrow she’ll get her first bath in what appears to be a looooong time, along with continued iv fluids and supportive care. Thank you to Every Life Matters Animal Rescue - ELMAR for pulling this girl from the euthanasia list today. She has a big spirit and deserves all the love ❤️.

Curious as to what a laser therapy session looks like? 🧐 We have been doing Laser Therapy sessions on Kayden for the past couple of weeks. We found that what works best for him is that he prefers to be chilling on the couch with his Human Sister (Thank You, Jessica!!) with one of his favorite toys or a bone to chew on. We use a towel to block his eye sight, since he does not tolerate having the adorable Doggles on his head! The laser can cause eyesight damage if you are not wearing eye protection (which we do have!) We like to tell owners that it is essentially like getting a nice hot stone massage (except its not that hot!) but its very relaxing for your pets and usually you will see improvements within a few weeks!

❗️❗️UPDATE❗️❗️ 5/13 Vanilla Bean has found a home finally! Yay! 🥳😍👏 We will be seeing her again soon for a spay but we can't wait to see her flourish in her new home! We still have Vanilla Bean available for adoption! 🌟🤍 She is such a sweet kitty and really enjoys her belly rubs! She is staying at the clinic with us until we find a suitable home for her. She begs for attention constantly but is also okay just hanging out and lounging around! Embrace Wellness Animal Clinic will be covering all vaccine boosters, her spay procedure, and a microchip! She was a farm kitty, but way too gorgeous to stay outside! She is 100% litter trained. She miroculously tested negative for heartworms/FELV/FIV! SHe is roughly 4 years old and does great with kids! She hasn't been around amny dogs yet, but does not seem very interested

This little pup enjoyed some cheese 🧀 while getting his vaccination and then he got lots of love afterwards! Our goal is to ensure that your pets have a postivie experience everytime they come in! This reinforces to your pet's that we are not here to hurt them, and more often than not your pets are excited to see us! Having a happy dog or cat coming to the vet can also reduce your stress about having to bring them in because it's much easier to bring in a confident pup, than having to drag your scared pups through the door. 🫨 We love being apart of your pet's healthcare team and ensuring that their physical and mental wellbeing are taken care of! 💖
