That Glorious feeling when the 3 gram hatchling that is 3 months old (hatched at 3 gms) FINALLY Eats! 🥳
I locked it in a 2 oz cup with a Fresh hot live pink and this time it ate it! I did dab it's head in the blood from another's umbilical cord that mom hadn't chewed off yet.
I'm just Happy it ate! It is the lone survivor of 2 good eggs in a 13 egg clutch with 11 slugs. Mom double clutched in October with 2 good eggs and 13 slugs. Hopefully one of those 2 will prove that mom is Het Lucy and future hard brumation will yield better good egg results. I'm Just So Happy! I was beginning to think this one might not thrive.

Not a hog but Opal kills me with that tail flicking! 🤣 In quarentine she was not shy at all! Always ready for a meal. Out of quarantine, super shy, hides, and will only drop feed and musks me!

That is sani chips on her vent because she musked me and tried to run and they stuck to the moisture on her vent.

Ms. Candy girl isn't thrilled to see me! These pics show the difference lighting can make in pics. The pics were taken in the same room. I was between her and the light in the first 2 and moved her under the light in the last one. She has about another month in quarentine.
