5 week Post-op Update! Healing is going better than expected. I still have some days that I question my life choices, but all in all, I am happy with my decisions.
I have my 6-week appointment next week and will hopefully get some answers on a return date.
I miss my doggie friends.

We are temporarily on hiatus due to the groomers' upcoming surgery. All existing clients will be notified of our return date within 8 weeks.

The Groomer is officially booked until surgery. I am hopeful that recovery will go well, and I will be back at it in September. I will be in contact with y'all soon.

A special 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will be held on Monday, September 11 at 9:00 a.m. at the new Prosper Fire Rescue Central Station. The community is invited to participate in a patriotic remembrance of the many lives lost in the tragedy of 9/11. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the new 9/11 museum and mobile memorial, a recovered beam from one of the towers that have been placed on its own trailer and decorated with remembrances will be on display.

Allergies are not isolated to food alone

Finally the appointment for the dermatologist for Gardenia and Jaxson arrived today.

Both were tested for what they are allergic to.

Gardenia:
Grasses: Johnson, Rye, Quack,
Molds: Pennicillum
Weeds: Cocklebur, Russian Thistle, Yellow Dock
Trees: Mountain Cedar, Mesquite, Oak
Others: Malassezia, Feathers, Flea, House Dust Mite.

Jaxson:

Grasses: Rye, June, Orchard, Timothy, Quack
Molds: Penicillum, Aspergillus
Weeds: Ragweed, Russian Thistle
Trees: Box Elder
Others: Malassezia, Flea, House Dust Mite

It is so very often disregarded with dogs with allergies that they are environmental. The general word on the street over and over and over again is people wanting to peg it to something in their food, "my dog is allergic to chicken" etc. etc..
If you have a dog with allergies, like these two or a dog like Bessie Pearl, you simply cannot know what they are allergic to without diagnostic testing and environmental allergies 95% of the time are very much the problem.

Like Bessie Pearl, these two will take allergy serum injections for the rest of their life, not as a cure, just as a tool in the tool box trying to keep them as healthy as possible. There is never a one quick solution to solve the allergic problems for dogs like this, its a constant state of maintaining and juggling, baths, serums, medications cytopoint, apoquel, hydroxyzine, antibiotics, sprays etc....
