Hey everyone!
Sad update -
My stolen car was found last night in what the police described as a “bust” with multiple arrests and three other recovered cars.
Unfortunately the steadfast Subaru isn’t making a comeback.
Will update everyone when I get more information on new wheels to get everyone back on their outings.
Any currently scheduled dog sitting dates Are Still On. Dogs will be exercised and enriched with training and puzzle games at home rather than the usual added outing.

Oakley worked on being comfortable hanging out together, eating snacks, and practicing easy cues like hand targeting and sit!

We worked on hand targeting, following a food lure, sitting and quietly waiting your turn, foundations for comfortably leashing up, and plenty of time playing ball!

Looking for a fun, fast paced sport with a welcoming community? Don't mind a little bit of highly structured chaos and lots of noise?
Flyball might be just the sport for you!

Flyball stands out among dog sports with its team approach: four dogs and their handlers compete while support members coach, reload the custom-made flyball box between dogs, and pick up loose balls. There’s a role for everyone in the flyball ring, including kids and those who require mobility assistance.

While you'll certainly come across pups who are in it for the love of balls and tug toys, flyball allows all types! Dogs of any size and speed can be a welcome addition to a team - it doesn’t matter if they’re purebred or mixed breed.

Handlers are free to use their dog’s favorite rewards - whether it's tugs, toys, or treats. If your dog isn’t enthusiastic about balls don’t worry! They can still be taught the skills to enjoy the game.

Naus: “Yes.”

We never want to “trick” our dogs but we can inadvertently damage their trust. A common practice is to offer food and then throw a leash on when they don’t expect it. That works in a pinch but shouldn’t be a regular practice or your puppy might learn to ignore offers of food or dodge away from hands. Practice leashing up when you’re not leaving! Tell them what’s happening, attach the leash, give them a couple treats in a row, then take the leash off and give them their freedom again.

Sometimes bath times are 🧼 Good Enough! 🧼 Licky mats, peanut butter on the wall, or even just a jar of treats can help everyone feel better. But when you have a carful of dogs that came back from the woods crawling with ticks 🤢 it’s time to just get everyone in and out as quickly and nicely as possible. We put in the work so our dogs are comfortable with baths and other necessary care, but as long as puppy isn’t panicking and is just ✨unimpressed✨ it’s ok to just get it done when you’re in a pinch.

It can take a little while, puppies can be annoying! Socialization Outing with Mad-Eye

For our last outing with Mad-Eye Mudi we took over Lowe’s! An old towel in the bottom of the cart with a couple of chewies set the puppies up for success. If you have a very… extroverted puppy like Nausicaä I recommend adding a chew proof (or inexpensive) tether to keep them safely contained in the cart.
