Today, Raven attended her first Weight Pull class! She did an amazing job. We look forward to attending more classes in April, as well as working towards our first competition!

Raven tracking in the local park. Not a real hunt, but this short video clearly shows her drive and ability to stay on, and follow a scent. We stood here for ten minutes, and she did not want to leave this den. If we had been in the woods, I would have let her off leash and stay until she caught the critter she was tracking.

The flirt pole is an excellent source of exercise for stamina and muscle building! Also increases prey drive, reminding them of the hunt.

Sorry for the delayed post everyone! We had a lovely weekend at the Westfield, Ma UKC show this passed weekend! Raven placed BOB on both days, earning her first 30 points towards her UKC Championship title. Although she did not place anything in group, it was fantastic exposure for both Raven as well as myself seeing as it was both our first time in the show ring.

We are hoping to get into some drop in handling classes in the near future to practice and get more familiar with the swing of things. We are hoping next season we can work towards Raven making a group placement!

Our goal this weekend was to create a positive first experience in the ring, as well as to have fun! I can say with complete confidence that was goal was 100% met!

We made it safe and sound to our hotel! Raven is settling in and excited to have a bed all to herself! Tomorrow starts our busy and exciting weekend at the UKC Conformation Show in Westfield, MA!

Welcome!

This page is dedicated to our breeding kennel for West Siberian Laika. We are a very small hobby breeder located in Northern Rhode Island, and are striving to breed dogs that are sound in both temperament and health. Our goal is to produce dogs that can still preform their original jobs as hunters, as well as preform various sports and activities in active family homes.

As of now, the only active dog in our program is our two year old female Petrichor's Moonwalker "Raven". Raven is our first West Siberian Laika, and the dog that made us fall in love with this breed. Raven is working towards her Championship in UKC, as well as towards various Novice titles for Barn Hunt, Canine Parkour, and DMWYD's Tricks. We also are aiming to get Raven out on her first hunt this season, as well as have her hips, elbows and eyes tested through OFA and CERF exams.

Pending health testing results, we are currently searching for a sire to pair with Raven to plan a breeding around early 2023, or early 2024.
