This month sixteen DPW employees received their CPR, AED and First Aid certifications thanks to the staff at Provincetown Fire Dept. Most town buildings have AED machines as well as Opioid Rescue Kits available and with that in mind we wanted to train as many staff members as possible. Joe and Adrianna made the class fun and we thank them for their time and expertise. Provincetown Fire Department

CHRISTMAS TREE PICK UP

Happy Holidays everyone. Here is what to do with your tree when the holidays are over. The DPW Highway Department will start picking up trees on Thursday January 2nd and will continue to pick them up until Friday February 7th.

Pickup will be on the same day as your curbside trash and recycling pickup so if your trash pickup is on Monday, your tree will also be picked up on Monday. Please keep in mind that the Highway Department will be doing this pickup, not the Sanitation Department. If you don't want to wait for curbside pickup day, feel free to bring it to the Transfer Station, Tuesday thru Saturday from 7:00am to 2:00pm. Staff there will direct you where to deposit your tree.

If you have any questions please feel free to call Sherry Prada, DPW Deputy Director at 508-487-7060 or email at [email protected]. Thank you!

The Town of Provincetown will host its annual First Light New Year’s Eve fireworks display on Tuesday, December 31 at 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. The fireworks celebration over the harbor launches from MacMillan Pier, and the best views for the fireworks are on the beach by the pier.
🎆
As has been the Town’s practice since a non-binding resolution was passed by Town Meeting voters, these will be “low noise” fireworks. This means that the fireworks will mostly look and sound the same, but the big, concussive “booms” that are most disturbing to people, pets, and wildlife have been removed from the show.
🎆
The fireworks are dependent on weather conditions and may be rescheduled to Monday, December 30 in the event of adverse conditions. Please check the Town's page for updates and learn more at https://buff.ly/3VNt1Se
