An Ode to the First Time Puppy Owners.

When you want to buy a puppy you see the upfront cost. You don't mind what breed it is, as long as you don't make a loss. 🙏

You find the one you like, and decide to pay the fee, for a pretty little puppy from a house in Utah County. 🏡

She's hypoallergenic and they swear she'll never shed. You get her home to snuggle her, and she p*es on your bed. 🛏️

It was just an accident, you probably should have known, it's all good now, shes laying down and chewing on a bone. 🦴

It's 1 o'clock in the morning and what's that funky smell? She's pooped all over the closet its bath time now, that smell 🤢

6am and exhausted, you've just been up all night. Who knew that having a puppy, would be such a test of might? 🕕

The kids get up excited, for presents by the tree. Hey look, that one's moving, whatever could it be? 🎁

They open up the present and can't believe their eyes, the pup they've always wanted was such a good surprise! 😮

Look how cute and fluffy, she loves the kids you see, but you're over in a corner cleaning up more p*e. 🚽

And now a kid is crying, "she bit me on the hand". So you put her in the closet to help her understand. 😢

She's whining and she's crying and now she starts to bark. Okay, okay you tell her and you take her to the park. 🐕‍🦺

She's running and her tail is wagging, she's playing with the kids, but wait what's that, a squirrel? Oh No! she called dibs! 🐿️

You finally catch your puppy and when you get her home, she settles by the Christmas tree happy with her bone. 🎄

But then the kids come running in, they only want to play. Your little puppy growls at them and not for the first time today. 🤷🏼‍♀️

You're worried she's aggressive and things might turn out bad. Could this be the worst idea that you have ever had? 🤔

No need to be dramatic, you're sure that she'll be fine, she'll probably just grow out of it in just a little time. ⏳

A few weeks pass and nothing, in fact things are getting worse. She's jumping and she's nipping and the chewing is the worst. 👹

You can't get her to go potty in the place you want her to. The kids are tired of playing with her and you don't know what to do. 🤷🏻‍♂️

But then you see on Facebook, a trainer that looks great, based down the road in Provo, that will help fix our mistakes! ✅

You call them and they're friendly and they reassure you, that everything will be okay as you clean up a pile of poo. 💩

You do a consultation, and hire them on the spot, because your dog for once is calm and polite, a miracle? Surely not! 🧙🏻‍♂️

You come each day, she's perfect, shes doing all the things, the trainers go over everything she learning and your stress is going away. 😮‍💨
