Saving Whiskers and Tails Saving Whiskers and Tails is a foster based animal rescue located in Pryor, OK. We are a 501c3 animal rescue, made up solely of volunteers.

Our primary goal is to rescue and rehome abused and abandoned animals. We strive to help local pets have a better quality of life through education and services to pets and their owners. We help direct families to affordable veterinarian services for spay/neuter, immunizations and veterinary care. Your donations of time and talents are very much appreciated. I’ve been waiting for my forever family since the end of June, and I can’t figure out why. I’m a sweet, funny, loving pup who has already overcome so much. I beat mange like a champ, my hair has grown in beautifully, and I’m ready to show the world just how handsome I am.

I’m housebroken as long as you take me out regularly, and I’ve even learned how to tell you when I need to “go.” I’m crate trained, I love other dogs, I love toys, and honestly—I just love life. I may not be perfect with cats, but with people and dogs, I’m all heart.

The only thing I’m missing is a family. I don’t want to wait any longer. Could you be the one to finally give me the home I’ve been dreaming about? Please don’t let me keep waiting. ~Rook

“Rooks foster mom here. Rook is such a sweetheart. I think he has potty training down thanks to his big foster sisters. He sleeps in his kennel at night in my bedroom. If he only knew if he had of cried for five minutes I would have caved and had a snuggle buddy. But he goes right in and goes to bed when I do. He is a puppy and does like his chew toys. He loves playing with his foster sisters and going outside with them. He would like to chew some things but so far has listened when told not to. All puppies have lots of energy and a few bad habits but he is willing to learn and is such a good boy. He sits so perfectly for a treat. He will sit for you quite a bit cause he always wants a treat. I think he would make someone a wonderful companion.”

Hey there. Thanks for sticking around until the end. I'm Ozzy. I was hanging out, JUST outside of Pryor, where I was let out by my previous owner. The kind people there were feeding me and trying hard to catch me...lol. I would have let them but it was pretty fun, watching them plan and plot; like I couldn't hear everything they were saying. But here was the thing. SWAT gave me a pill to get rid of the critters on me but my ears hurt, HURT bad! And, sorry, as disgusting as this sounds, I was full of worms...not fun! I thought about it all night. I took a deep breath and let one of the humans pick me up (I'm only 25 lbs.) She brought me to another human, they took me to the Shelter where SWAT was called. I went to a foster and she wanted to adopt me. She already had a mean girl living with her and I needed none of THAT. I came back to SWAT. It wasn't all that fun but I took a long nap and woke up, um a different guy. I am about 4 years old. Who knew? I'm a Schnauzer! Schnauzer enough that that they felt the need to cut off my tail when I was a baby. My SWAT foster calls me a "cool guy." I like that. I am super cool around people, although I'm still a little standoffish. I'm cool around other dogs, around cats and even chickens. I'm learning to walk on a leash. I'm house trained. They still make me where this THING called a belly band, because I like to let people know this is MY house too. Sadly, they tell me that little male trait will go away soon. So, I'm just here to let you know that I'm ready for Forever. If you want more info, send us a message and we'll get back with you.
