There will always be auctions. There will be branded mustangs waiting to go through to be bid on at these auctions.

PLEASE donate! Give whatever you can! I promote mustang adoption from BLM holding corrals in Canon City, CO. I am also trying to raise funds and save BLM branded mustangs BEFORE they end up on feedlots and ship to slaughter. My passion is mustangs. I love the ones I currently have and the ones that have passed through my Tiny Wild Mustang Ranch. I had an awful experience thinking I was doing the r

ight thing, trying to save a BLM mare that was in a feedlot in Colorado that had a "cough" and was due to ship to slaughter in a few days. She was way overpriced, being sick and all. I put the required 75% down and had a LOT of help from individuals all across the country who I never met before that donated on behalf of me and that mare! Her name was Tanya (named by the feedlot). Her full inflated price was covered at last! She did not ship the following morning! I couldn't wait to get her home! Quarantine was scheduled to pick her up the following afternoon. Everything seemed to be in place and I was going to get a mare that was a carbon copy of the BLM mare I already have and love dearly. Turns out this mare was from the same HMA (herd)! Even better! The new mare could have been Moka's Momma, sister, Auntie? I was so excited! I LOVED her already! I WANTED her for many reasons. So I was in contact with the people who were providing the 30 day quarantine and the wonderful gal that helped organize the donations and get me through the process. I had some conversations urging me to agree to get Tanya to a Vet immediately after pick up. No big deal, I thought. Get some antibiotics in her and she will recover just fine. Its just a cough. Early the next morning I got the call. She didn't make it through the night. Silence. What? She passed away. I was inconsolable. I had to leave work. I don't know how I drove and made it home in one piece. I had so much fluid in my eyes I couldn't see. I cried all day long. I NEVER WANT ANYONE TO GO THROUGH THIS, EVER! So I made up Tanya's law and I'm going to try my hardest to get to as many BLM branded mustangs as possible by borrowing bidders from CHRN and raising funds to cover the bids and have foster families take them in and get them ready for adoption to people who really want them. Feedlots and Killpens raise their prices so high and then sell to the public threatening that the horses will ship (and they do) but you can save them and bring them home for 5 or even 10 times what I pay. There are very sick, contagious, diseased, crowded horrible condition place to be housed awaiting your last day to feel the earth under you. So the money they make off of people like me that think they are doing the right thing gives the killbuyer THAT much more money to buy 4, 5, 6 more horses and do it all over again. And AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. It is a VERY good living! If you call that living and can do that to our horses. This mare, my poor mare, had been passed from auction to auction, killpen to killpen. Nobody wanted her. Maybe because she was sick and the slaughter plants won't take sick horses. (I was told later) I feel so bad finding all this out after everything that happened. She had a possibility of being pregnant too because she had been housed with 2 studs the first time she was there. This was the second time she was at this feedlot. So I decided to try and figure out how I could help BLM mustangs BEFORE they ended up in feedlots and killpens and eventually end up in slaughter. So I started messaging and chatting with Carrie Terroux-Barrett and CHRN and getting my questions, ideas and advice from an experienced, educated woman who deals with this on a daily basis. I now understand, but still learning that buying these horses this way actually HURTS the rescues 100% and gives these jerks a LOT of money to live on in a vicious cycle, over and over and over. They get their horses for under $200 each and often get them for free from Craigslist ads and such. Tanya's purchase price was $1005. I just gave him the money for 5 or more horses by purchasing her! All Money raised goes to CHRN (a non-profit) to bid, pick up, foster, provide Veterinary and farrier services, whatever is needed, the mustangs will have it! They will find adopters who REALLY want them FOREVER!! Thank you for donating!
