began training dogs in 1990 with his first German Shepherd, Sabbath, who drew him to the breed and into the wonderful world of dog training. His four-legged family rapidly expanded, and it didn't take long for him to become enthralled with canine behavior, problem solving, and pack dynamics. Shortly thereafter, Jim discovered Schutzhund, a sport that originated in Germany as a breed suitability test for the German Shepherd Dog. (Schutzhund involves tracking, obedience, and protection work.) Since then, Jim's expertise, interest, and love of dogs inspired him to form Cool K9's Dog Training - to include training and support for all dog breeds.

Sandy Upton is the second home for 10mo Gracie. She had in-home training from the ages of 9wks to 6mos. Yet, she is displaying man and dog aggression. Gracie can be fine, but still has an edge. The lightning made her a little twitchy, but even that was sporadic. We'll get her dialed in!!!

Interesting case, with an excellent outcome!

The second appointment with Kim Nelson and Rebel(F) was great, and revealing! Recalls and focus were good, and they already have some nice stays, so we added some elements. We also started working obedience, and this is when the tail chasing started. It appears to be that Rebel has some anxiety with too much control work. This is when keeping it FUN will make a huge difference! Kim is doing a fine job of increasing her enthusiasm, so it shouldn't be long before the tail chasing becomes a thing of the past!!!

This is my 3rd appointment with Stewart. His family was given horrible advice on how to handle him. He had to be muzzled around guests due to his random aggression, which included muzzle hits. He's such a sweet boy!!! So, this happened tonight. It is still burning, but thankfully, the fire is just burning up the open area across the street, staying clear of the houses. But way too close!
