We've received a lot of responses to our recent naming contest for the new Rodrigues flying foxes, and the votes have been tallied. Meet Persephone, Calypso, and Artemis!
The Rodrigues flying fox is listed as Critically Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. They live in only one place in the world, and that place suffers from deforestation and frequent hurricanes. You can find these cuties hanging out in our Islands of Life building! 🦇

📢⚠️ Saturday, November 9th, Pueblo Zoo will be running on a 2 hour delay due to inclement weather. ⚠️

🎄The Holiday Craft Market has been rescheduled to Sunday, November 10th, from 9am-3:30pm. The event will be located in our Mandari building with heating and festive Christmas music. Attendees can warm up with hot cocoa and coffee. We hope this weather puts you in the holiday spirit, and can't wait to see you there! 🎁

The lines are strung and our glorious sycamore awaits adventurous climbers! Today kicks off Military Weekend with free zoo admission for retired and active duty military, veterans, and dependents with valid ID. Tree climbing experiences will run from 10am-3pm.

We're also celebrating Bison Day today from 10am-2pm! At 11am and 1pm, local Native American storyteller, Samuel "Tamehorse" Gallegos will share stories, song, and dance near the bison exhibit. We hope to see you here! 🦬

We are excited to announce the recent arrival of 3 new Rodrigues Flying Foxes to our Islands of Life building! These animals are critically endangered in the wild, so we are honored to have so many in our care. In celebration of Halloween, we are holding a naming contest for these little newbies! 🦇

Our keepers have narrowed down to 4 sets of unique names for this cauldron of cuties, and we need YOU to vote for YOUR favorite set! Join us this Saturday and Sunday as we celebrate Military weekend at Pueblo Zoo! All weekend, we invite active duty military, veterans, and their dependents to enjoy free admission with valid ID. 🇺🇸

For guests seeking a bit of adventure, we've partnered with Tree Climbing Colorado to offer tree climbing experiences on Saturday from 10 am - 3pm. Gear up and climb high to get awesome views of our resident Bison, Cody and CJ! There is an additional fee for this activity.

Saturday is Bison Day, and in recognition of our majestic national mammal, we are thrilled to host local native American storyteller, Samuel "Tamehorse" Gallegos. Join us at 11 am and 1 pm near the bison exhibit for captivating storytelling sessions that bring history to life! 🦬
