Took the opportunity to drop off my Wyoming hunting buddy/client’s Pronghorn Antelope mount to him while on our way to Myrtle Beach earlier this week. He moved to Greensboro NC from Redfield NY about 6 years ago and this was the 1st time we have been able to see where he lives. I had forgotten about all the mounts I have done for him over the last 25 years! His wife has done a great job arranging them in their house.

Finally finished this overdue fisher mount. I modified both the fisher and chipmunk manikins to make this a “one of a kind” piece per the clients request.

My goal in the shop this week is to finish 7 mounts and prep a couple more deer manikins
With that in mind I’d like to remind folks of my payment terms:
“No materials will be ordered until a deposit is received. Completed mounts not picked up within 30 days of notification will have a $50.00 late fee added to the balance due. Mounts not picked up within 60 days will become property of the Rack Shack and amounts previously paid will be forfeited, unless prior payment arrangements have been made.”

He makes one!

This unique mount got picked up yesterday. It’s a Kentucky bow kill. I’ve mounted bucks in velvet before but this was the first one I’ve done that the velvet was peeling. Its hair was short and hide thin like that of an Africain animal. One of the things I enjoy about doing taxidermy is getting to work on a variety of God’s creatures.

Having gotten 11 deer mounts put together over the course of the last few weeks it’s time to start the finish work on the ones that are dry. I need to free up some space before I start putting more together.

Was able to deliver the mount of my 13yo grandson’s first deer to him this afternoon!

Even though I won’t place a major order for deer mounting materials until after the first of the year and since I’m no longer buried taking in deer I’m busy working on preparing skins to go to the tannery and have started tanning capes so they’re ready to mount when I get the materials in for them.

I was finally able to get this “speed goat” (Pronghorn Antelope) done for my Wyoming hunting buddy before things got busy with deer season. Hopefully our next trip to Wyoming will be for Elk.

Hi folks. Having taken in 30 deer my antler rack is full! I’m really sorry but this means I will not be accepting any more deer for shoulder mounts this season.
