Max is still looking for a home!

‼️LOOKING FOR A HOME‼️
We would like to introduce you all to our friend Max. Max has been coming to Applewood since March of 2023. He is fixed and up-to-date on his vaccines. He did a one week program with Hannah back in 2023 and will be doing a few refreshers as well. His home life has changed and he is looking for a new place to call his own.
Max seems to like other dogs his size and bigger! He is still very puppy and a big player. Max is crate trained and almost never barks. He’d do best in a home with older children as he is a bull in a china shop. We believe he is a 2yr old boxer mix. He has a great appetite! Treats and fetch are the way to his heart ❤️ If you’re interested in Max and have any questions please feel free to reach out to us 🐾

If Sherry and Hannah didn’t both have 3 dogs, we’d both keep Max as he is the sweetest boy ever!!

The Association of Professional Dog Trainers established the month of January as National Train Your Dog Month to remind pet parents that to become well-behaved companions, dogs need socialization and schooling. Introducing obedience and tricks training into your daily routine with your pet is also a great way to celebrate the bond you two have.

If you're consistent, use well-timed rewards and praise, and lots of practice, you and your dog will be able to grow your bond immensely. There are also many qualified, professional dog trainers out there if you need a little education or reinforcement.

*Update 12/5/24, 8:00pm - 4 male spots still remain, female spots have been taken.*
We have some exciting news! FARVets spay/neuter clinic is coming back to our Shelter!
The clinic will be held on December 19th and is $100 per cat. This cost covers rabies vacc as well if needed.
There are 20 slots total available: 16 males and just 4 for females. Minimum of 3 lbs.
To reserve a slot you will need to come to the shelter fill out the paperwork and pay. Please do not call for a slot. We will not reserve any slots without this being done.
Limit of two cats per household. They can be pets or feral, in which case their ears will be tipped if being released.
