Giles County Animal Shelter The Giles County Animal Shelter houses stray dogs from Giles County, TN & promotes adoption Please LIKE and SHARE our page to see incoming dogs!

We proudly serve the residents of Giles County, as well as the City of Pulaski, Lynnville, Elkton and Minor Hill. Our Animal Control Officers respond to complaints regarding dogs that are running at large and handles neglect and animal cruelty cases for dogs, cats and livestock. It is our mission to inform our community of the state laws and city ordinances in place for vaccinations, tethering/cha

ining, and sheltering needs. Any dog impounded by our shelter can be reclaimed by his rightful owner during a 72 hour hold period. If the dog brought in has any type of identification we will make reasonable effort to contact the owner and the hold period will be 5 business days. Once the hold period is up, all healthy/adoptable dogs will be put up for adoption or sent to a registered 501(c)3 rescue. We are OPEN by APPOINTMENT !

🌟 Help Ellie Heal 🌟

Meet Ellie (affectionately called Elf), a sweet and resilient pup who has already stolen our hearts. 😍
She was found on a porch in Giles County after being hit by a car. 😢 Thanks to our compassionate Animal Control officer, Ellie was rushed to Pulaski Vet Clinic, where she received her first round of care, including surgery to repair an ear hematoma, xrays, heartworm test, and spay.

But Ellie isn’t out of the woods yet. She has a dislocated hip and is scheduled for a femoral head osteotomy (FHO) on January 7th to give her the pain-free, active life she deserves.

We need your help to make this possible. Donations toward her care can be dropped off directly at Pulaski Vet Clinic (on Giles County Animal Shelter account) or made through the button below. Every dollar brings Ellie one step closer to recovery and a brighter future.🙏

🌟 Meet Faith: A Survivor with So Much Love to Give 🌟

Faith has overcome incredible odds to get where she is today. Rescued from a location with over 50 feral dogs, she is the sole surviving adult after 20 puppies were sent to rescue partners for their forever homes. Now, it’s Faith’s turn to find hers.

Faith adores other dogs—they’re her comfort zone and her happy place. While she’s not leash-trained and is scared of almost everything, she doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body. Faith is more comfortable with women and has made remarkable progress in her foster home, but she’s ready for a new environment to continue her journey toward confidence and trust.

If you have a patient heart, a loving home, and maybe a canine companion or two, Faith could be the perfect fit. She’s a work in progress, but with the right family, she’ll blossom into the amazing dog we know she is.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy—I’m SO excited to meet you!🐶 I’m 2 years old, but don’t let that fool you, I’ve got plenty of puppy energy to share! My favorite thing in the whole wide world? FETCH!🎾 Throw the ball, and I’ll zoom after it faster than you can say, “Good boy!” (Spoiler: I am a VERY good boy.)

Cowboy is a sweet, gentle shepherd mix who's been waiting for the perfect family at the shelter for 72 days. He’s ready to find a home where he can be loved, safe, and truly happy. Could that be with you?

**Emergency Fosters Needed for Puppies and Medical Dogs! 🆘** These vulnerable animals need extra care and comfort that a shelter just can’t provide. Puppies like Ellie Mae and Ranger, 6-week-old siblings, have spent the last month living in a crate while waiting for room at the shelter. Thankfully, a 2-week emergency foster stepped up today to give them a temporary home. Injured dogs like Bishop, who’s been on the run since July and hurt his remaining leg nub, are also in desperate need of fosters. Bishop may require surgery and will soon head to a partner rescue, but he needs a safe, loving place to wait and receive medication in the meantime. If you have space in your heart and home to help us care for these fragile pups, please reach out to us.
