Fresh greens help make this heat bearable. The three larger babies in the video are now old enough to leave! There is a 4th, but it was snoozing in the shade at the time. These buns are unhandled, but curious enough to come sniff me when I sit in the pen with them. I do not know genders yet as I haven't caught them to check. The younger babies are about 4 weeks old now. They all get to share this larger pen, with cooler underground burrows to help during the heat wave. All have been raised on fresh greens (starting with mom's diet of greens through her milk) so their tummies are used to them.
I got a big surprise yesterday...5 kits that I had no idea existed😲 I had assumed their mom miscarried since I never saw pulled fur, or a nest in her hutch. She has never had babies in a burrow before, but I guess this time she did! 1 BEW and 4 harlequins. She even kept the entrance filled in to keep them hidden until they ventured out yesterday.
Playing with the babies today. They are ready to go!
LOVE this adorable fluffy stage where they are finding their hops🥰
These four blend into the snow.
