Crocodile monitor
Scarface, Tom and Stacey’s beloved crocodile monitor in his new enclosure. This is a 8 foot long monitor lizard we are keeping for a friend while they move to a new facility.
Cuban Boa
Setting up a trio of Tom and Stacey’s Cuban boas. They were kept together at Tom’s and they will be kept together here. However, we will be separating them to feed.
Forsten’s tortoises are listed as critically endangered species. The adults were donated to us by Dallas Zoo.
Please meet our new rescue, named Twinkle!!! She is a 9 year old female Sri Lankan star tortoise. I hope to pair her up with a male in the future.
Anna showing this boy a boa, who according to his father, wanted to come see Donkey Kong, which he did, in addition to interactions with our ambassador animals. The family came all the way from NY! 😊🙏
Getting ready for a cold night.
It’s an awesome Friday here at Igualand. Please come visit the largest reptile zoo in the world with more than 250 species of reptiles and amphibians. Where you can see, hold and be educated about these mostly misunderstood animals—-while supporting conservation!!!
One spoiled red foot tortoise: 🥰 For most people who live in tropical or subtropical areas, this is the species of tortoise I recommend as pet. They are highly intelligent and enjoys interaction with people. They are also ideal in size (not too big) and very hardy. Truly under appreciated species.
Storm clean up.
We are almost done with the storm clean up. 😊 Thankfully, we didn’t get much rain.
Tropical storm
We have some minor wind damages that will be taken care of this morning. We had only couple of inches of rain so the ground is mainly dry.
Tropical storm
Wind is still strong (tropical storm.) It started around 11 AM and hasn’t stopped yet. We have sustained some minor damages but we will clean up in the morning and be open tomorrow. I can’t imagine how bad it will be for the people who are expecting direct hit from this hurricane. Please stay safe!!!!
