PET FOOD ALERT: Following up on a case of H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in a cat, testing performed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, state and local public health and agriculture partners, and federal partners suggests a link between the strain of H5N1 virus detected in the cat and in certain lots of RAWR Raw Cat Food Chicken Eats, a product the cat consumed before falling ill.

I've officially been working at New Hope Pet Hospital for a quarter of a century!! Today marks 25 years strong and I STILL love my job! Recent reports of the abrupt closure of pet microchip company Save This Life has prompted calls for pet owners to reregister their chipped pets.

Due to the recent Save This Life Microchip database disruptions, it is very important to re-register your pet's microchip information as soon as possible if your pet was implanted with this brand microchip. This ensures your pet can be identified in the unexpected event they get lost.

Here are 2 options to re-register:
1) Free Registry Service at www.freepetchipregistry.com.
a. This is a FREE database that is connected to the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool.

2) Registry with Datamars / PetLink at 1-877-PETLINK (738-5465) or online at www.PetLink.net
a. Customers can register Save this Life microchipped pets with petlink.net for only $1 using the discount code: STLDOLLAR
b. This offer is valid through 3/31/2025

If your pet was microchipped at New Hope Pet Hospital you do not have to re-register because we did not use Save This Life microchips. Many shelters used them so please check your records to see what brand was used.
