🌞We will not be accepting any afternoon appointments for the date of April 8th due to the solar eclipse.🌚

🐾 Below will be a few tips to help your pup or kitty through the eclipse!

🐾 It's best to keep your pet indoors during the eclipse. No it's not because they will look at the sun, it's in their nature to know not to look directly in the sun just as it is ours. (so no need to buy your pup or kitty those funny looking glasses we will all be wearing to look at the sun😂) They will however sense the excitement from others and yourself and notice a unusual change in their familiar surroundings. This could make them anxious and stressed as they won't understand what is happening. Indoors is best for your furry companion.

🐾 If you will be working during the eclipse, perhaps shut the curtains or blinds. Leave some lamps or a TV on. Make them feel comfortable and safe in a familiar surrounding!

🐾 Keep an eye on your pet, watch and make sure that there isn't any signs of stress or discomfort. Make the mood as light and normal as you possibly can. Pets rely on routine just as you and I do.

Summer is just in our grasp 🌞 🐾

PSA TO DOUBLE COATED DOG FAMILIES!

Let's talk about a few things!

Alot of requests get made to shave dogs thinking it will keep your pet cooler in the summer heat. This is not the case.
Is your dog panting??? Well of course it is, its a natural way of cooling themselves down, many dogs pant when they're excited, hot, or feeling energetic.

Dogs can't sweat like we do to cool us down. They rely on their coat, panting, and they also have sweat glands in the paws of their feet (notice the damp paw prints all through your house on hot and steamy days.)

What are you doing when you choose to shave your dog???

🐾 putting them at risk for sunburn (which can lead to skin cancer and other skin abnormalities)

🐾 increase the chance for heat stroke

🐾 coat damage ( causing the coat to grow in thick and uneven to the point the dog cannot regulate their body temperature and will cause them issues during the summer and winter

If your concerned about your pup this summer in the heat here are a few ways to help keep them cool!

🐾 make sure they have full access to cool water at all times

🐾 brush your dog. If your not keeping up with the hair and the hair is becoming impacted then it will overheat your dog, the cool air won't be able to pe*****te the skin

🐾 make sure your dog has access to shade at all times

Unless you have a medical reason from a licensed vet stating your dog needs shaved and is in best interest to the pets health. The dog should not be shaved down.
