We started the pet expo in 2014 and it has always been a FREE event. The last couple of years we decided to ask for donations for rescues, and we have been amazed by the generosity of our attendees. It feels so good to be able to give these items to our rescues who are also our vendors at the event. At the end of the day, they get to come up themselves and "shop" for free, whatever they need. So thank you for making a difference. It is so appreciated.

They definitely are not pets – but they are living, hunting, and raising their young right in our backyards. Join Secret Garden Birds and Bees at the Loudoun Pet Expo on Sept 8th at Franklin Park in Purcellville to get to know a few of the birds of prey that share our neighborhoods. You’ll meet our Raptor Ambassadors up close and personal, learn their individual stories, a little bit about the threats they face and what we can all do to help them thrive in our changing world. You might even get to take a selfie with your favorite owl, hawk, or falcon!

Maryland Department of Natural Resources has issued an advisory to the public of algae mats found in the Potomac River from below Williamsport to Riley Lock that may be harmful to animals if ingested. Pet owners should keep their animals out of the water in this area until further notice. The algae looks like mats of fine, green cotton and can be found along the shoreline, attached to rocks or plants, on the bottom, or floating downstream.

Our Story

The Loudoun Pet Expo began in 2014 as an idea as most things are, and a passion and love for animals. With no experience in event planning or where to begin, I reached out to people who could help me make this dream a reality.

I realized that people love their animals, and people enjoy attending events. I wanted to combine the two and make it a family-friendly experience where attendees could enjoy the day and vendors could benefit as well. I knew that by having rescues and non-profits at the event, many animals would have the chance to find their forever home. Vets, groomers, pet sitters, and vendors selling hand-made items and other merchandise, etc could have a place to represent their business and meet people in the community.

It has been a pleasure to put this event together each year and meet so many wonderful people through it. I am so grateful for the support of the community, the attendees and each of my vendors.
