My name is Bourbon Whiskey, but friends just call me "Whiskey."
This handsome Gelding is ready to be adopted. He is part Vladimir Draft and is 16 hands tall.
He lifts his feet for the farrier and does beautifully for his teeth. He is 🥕🍏🍎 motivated.
Saddles well and is gated.
Riders must be light on hands, and experienced.
You want a power house of a horse this is your guy.

This is our latest rescue here at the ranch.
Shes a 15 yr old mare mustang.
Seized Location: Berkeley Springs

We are calling her Phoenix.
Upon arrival at the site she looked like the first picture but covered in f***l matter and unsure of the color of the horse.
She was also very weak and unable to walk far. She stayed inside of her barn in a 12 by 10ft stall reciving little to no food or water.

Loading on the trailer was a blessing as she laid down the whole ride home, I was concerned about her safety due to her unstability. Medicine was given to relax her for her safety on the trip. Removing the vet wrap as well on her leg that had been the for a very long time, to prevent circulation restriction while in transit.

On the first few days Pheonix received wormer and a good vet work up. Diagnosis of pneumonia and other lower blood levels.
Pheonix received her first bath of many revealing that she's a white horse.

Pheonix had rotted hooves and a maggots infestation during her first trim. She was so week unable to stand on 3 legs while I worked on each hoof. I made it easier and laid her down to soak clean and complete all her hooves comfortably for her with out the risk of her falling.

She received her first dental and at that time her age was determined at 15.
She had wolf teeth and extreme EORTH.
Pulling 4 teeth and filling down points and making her a better mouth to grind her food with was like waking up a different horse.

The last photo is her now 4 weeks now she had been here at the rescue.
She receives minerals and food 2 times daily and free choices alfalfa and grass.

Today marks the month mark of her journey to a new life and new friends.

Follow along for more updates on Pheonixs Journey.

I urge every horse owner to read into plants/trees that can be toxic and even fatal to their horse. This article is helpful but there are more not listed on here. You would be surprised by what’s in your field that you didn’t know could be a problem for your horse. Do it for Dixie ❤️. Hug your horses a little tighter in her memory. I pray that none of you ever has to go through the same thing. 🙏🏼

Here we will discuss twelve plants that are poisonous to horses. You will learn how to identify them, how to identify toxicity in your horse and when you should call your veterinarian in.
