Moses and Linda are proud parents of a beautiful little heifer. ❤️ Dad is a mini highland, mom is a mini longhorn, so baby girl is a mini high-horn!

Linda decided this sweltering hot day was prime for labor. 🥴

Each day is a day closer to our grand opening--we are still thinking late summer early fall-but haven't set a date yet 😬

We know we've been quiet the last few weeks, but things have certainly not been quiet around here 🤪

Our venue is coming along nicely! We are finishing metal on the roof this week and hoping for metal on the sides within the next couple. Hauling a little more chat, finishing fencing and pens and it'll be ready for those late summer early fall birthday parties and petting zoos!

It's been an amazing nursing home week. We want to thank Cypress Point - skilled nursing by Americare, Wi******er Nursing Center, StoneBridge Senior Living, and Puxico Nursing and Rehab for having us out to help celebrate.

Update on our goose Sally that was sitting on the chicken eggs.

She was doing great sitting on her eggs, when one day these sweet little ducks passed by(they were ones we bought at a recent sale) and she thought "well heck, I'll be their mom". At first, the baby ducks were terrified but now they've accepted their fate and love their new mom Sally. 🥰

Ben, however, our other female goose(that we initially thought was a man) that decided to sit on chicken eggs...is still sitting on chicken eggs. So hopefully soon Ben (who we will call Benita from here on out) will be a mom soon as well. ☺️

After some pinched fingers, a lot of measuring, leveling and balancing, and maybe even a little blood, sweat, and tears...
We have our entrance gate up!

This will be the driveway that leads to the parking lot of the zoo. The barbwire fence in front of it is leaving and a pipe fence is taking its place. Can't have barbwire around little fingers 😊

Funny story... we rescued these geese a few months back. We assumed they were a male and female pair and we were so excited about eggs to incubate. We incubated them and quickly learned that they are two females. And these two females are broody. So, about two weeks ago, we gave them some fertilized chicken eggs to lay on. If these geese hatch these baby chicks you can BET that they will be the most protected baby chicks ever. I can't wait to see them hatch them out!
