Sharing this important message for our customers in the Puyallup area.
We agree wholeheartedly with the valuable information provided by our friends and owners, Jennifer and Allen, of Firehouse Pet Shop in Wenatchee. As owners of an independent pet store, we consider pet safety our #1 priority and we understand that it is yours as well.
As noted in the original post below, Northwest Naturals has issued a voluntary recall for two lots of their Turkey Recipe for cats. We have never carried the Turkey Recipe for cats at the Puyallup location so have none of the affected lots here. That said, we appreciate the questions or concerns for feeding raw food in general that this issue may cause.
All Puyallup team members feed raw in our homes and trust the brands we carry.
We offer a variety of food options: kibble, canned, raw, freeze-dried, lightly cooked & more—each meeting strict U.S. and EU standards.

On December 24th 2024, Northwest Naturals announced a voluntary recall on two lots of their Turkey Recipe for cats. We immediately looked at our inventory, and did not locate any of the affected lots at our location.
Here’s what you need to know to make informed decisions:
🐾 Addressing Safety Concerns
The recent tragic news of a cat passing after eating raw food has many pet parents worried. Early news reports indicated this was an indoor cat and wouldn't have expsoure to any potential sick wildlife. However, further details indicate the cat was not strictly an indoor pet, which may have contributed to the outcome. This remains an active investigation at state level. NW Naturals issued a voluntary recall for some of their products out of an abundance of caution. Importantly, no mandatory recalls have been issued.
