Puyallup Animal Rescue

We are a nonprofit rescue group of volunteers in Pierce County, WA dedicated to finding permanent homes for cats and dogs.

We are a nonprofit rescue group dedicated to finding permanent homes for homeless dogs and cats in Pierce County, Washington. We do not operate out of a shelter, instead we rely on our network of foster homes to care for our animals until they are adopted. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS
The first step, if you are interested in adopting one of our dogs or cats, is to fill out and submit an adoption applicat

ion. You can request an application by emailing us. A volunteer will contact you after it has been submitted to speak with you about your application and about the pet you are applying to adopt. If you rent, we require your landlord's permission to adopt a dog or a cat. We require a completely fenced yard to adopt a dog. All adopters must agree to and sign an adoption agreement. We do not adopt out pets as gifts unless the recipient is there to pick out the pet themselves. All pets are spayed or neutered before adoption. ADOPTION FEES
Kittens & adult cats are $175.00

Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, tested for FIV and Felv, and are given the vaccinations for Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici Virus, Panleukopenia, and Rabies (If 4 months of age or older). Dogs and Puppies are $300.00 with an additional $50.00 obedience training refundable deposit. When you complete an accredited obedience class with your new dog we will send you back the $50.00 deposit. Dogs and puppies are spayed or neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, and are given the vaccinations for Distemper, Parvo, and Rabies (If 4 months of age or older). ADOPTION EVENT LOCATIONS
Our rescue partners with the Petsmart in Sunrise Village located at:
10309 156th St E,
Puyallup, WA 98373. Our adoptable cats and kittens are at the Sunrise PetSmart every day for potential adopters to meet with and visit in the cat room. Some of our adoptable cats stay in foster homes and so they are not available for viewing at PetSmart. Please check our Petfinder Pet List to see all of our cats that are available for adoption. Our adoptable dogs are in foster homes and they are brought to adoption events which are normally on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at the Sunrise PetSmart. Dogs are also brought to PetSmart's special adoption events. Please contact us and not PetSmart to verify adoption status if you are interested in a specific pet. VOLUNTEERING
We are a foster home-based adoption agency for our dogs and cats. We rely on our network of volunteers to care for the animals until they find permanent homes. If you would like to foster for us, please email us and request a foster application! Callie & Cabbage are a sister pair of 9 month old kittens.

They are so sweet, friendly and playful!

They would love to be adopted together, and they are the last of their litter in foster.

All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV&felv, and have been treated for parasites.

Callie is a 9 month old spayed female, shorthair, brown tabby kitten.

Callie, short for Calendula, is a chatty little girl! She will "answer" you when you speak to her and loves to follow you around the house. Callie likes to be where the action is, and you can often find her playing with her siblings or exploring anything that she thinks could be a toy (which is basically everything). She has a very sweet nature and will snuggle with you if you pick her up, but she is generally too busy playing and getting into mischief to sit still for long.

She is learning to stay off the counters in her foster home, but this is still a work in progress.

Callie has been around other cats, small and large dogs, and children, and does well with all of them.

Cabbage is a 9 month old spayed female, shorthair, tortie kitten.

Cabbage is a lot of fun! She is VERY playful and thinks the world is her playground. Her favorite activities include hopping in the shower after you are done bathing (and then seeming confused about why her paws are wet), and "hiding" from you on the stairs (she is terrible at this game but she thinks she is very sneaky.)

She is loving and will snuggle with you if you pick her up, BUT she's generally too busy playing to want to sit still for long. She is learning to stay off the counters in her foster home, but this is still a work in progress.

Java is an 11-week-old Siamese mix male and the runt of his litter—but don’t let his size fool you! What he lacks in bulk, he makes up for in sweetness. 💙
This little guy is energetic, playful, and full of kitten curiosity. He can be a bit wary at first, and since he’s smaller than his siblings, he’s not quite as bold—but once he feels safe, his personality shines. Java loves interacting with his people, climbing on his trusted human, and being part of whatever you’re doing.
He’s not a big cuddler (yet), but he shows affection in his own special way—through play, closeness, and choosing you as his safe place. Java would do best with a patient, gentle home that will let him build confidence at his own pace.

FOSTER HOME NEEDED URGENTLY
Nicki is a very sweet, affectionate, and lovable girl who truly thrives on being close to her people. She loves to cuddle up next to you and is happiest just being nearby. She has a goofy, entertaining personality that will keep you smiling.

Nicki loves going on walks and car rides, and she enjoys interactive play like fetch and tug-of-war. Tennis balls, chew/teething toys, and her football squeaker toy are her favorites—everything else tends to get “destroyed.” She also has a special love for ice cubes and eagerly waits for one anytime the freezer opens.

She is a high-energy dog who can have a hard time focusing at times, so she would do best in an active household that can provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation. A home with a larger, securely fenced yard would be ideal for her to run and burn off energy. Nicki is house-trained and knows basic commands such as sit, and she usually comes when called.

Nicki is crate-trained when left alone, but at night she sleeps in the bedroom on her dog bed—though she may occasionally sneak into bed for extra cuddles.

She does well with other dogs once properly introduced. However, she is very interested in cats and will chase them, so a cat-free home is recommended. Her behavior around other small animals or livestock is unknown, but would likely be similar to her reaction to cats. Nicki warms up to people quickly and is very loving once she knows them. Her experience with children is unknown.

Nicki is very food-motivated, which can be helpful for training. She does have some food-guarding tendencies, so she eats in her kennel to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable.

Speedy is a 2 year old spayed female, longhair , black and white cat.

Speedy is a sweet, friendly young cat. She wants to be around people. She seeks attention and loves to be petted and brushed. She will meow a greeting or answer to her name, however she is generally quiet.

She is curious and loving, though skittish at first. She quickly want to know what is going on. She is very friendly and open with humans very quickly. But new situations and objects take a minute. But she definitely wants to know what things are and while she is curious, she will explore cautiously.

She doesn’t like being away from her person. She likes to be where you are, usually sprawled out so she can be properly admired.

Though she doesn’t love being help, she allows herself to be picked up. She prefers being petted over snuggling.

She is not a big lapcat yet, she might change her mind in the future.

She is a laid-back cat for the most part. She doesn’t play too much, though she likes her cat-nip ball.

We do not know how well she likes other adult cats. She cares very much for her kittens.

She is wary but curious about the dogs in her foster home. She would be fine with a dog that leaves her alone or is respectful.

We do not know how she would be with small children.

Speedy would love a family who has time to spend with her and give her the attention that she craves for being a very loving cat. She might do well in a multi-pet household as long as she is given the time to acclimate.

Her adoption fee is $200.
