Puyallup Animal Rescue

Puyallup Animal Rescue We are a nonprofit rescue group of volunteers in Pierce County, WA dedicated to finding permanent homes for cats and dogs.

We are a nonprofit rescue group dedicated to finding permanent homes for homeless dogs and cats in Pierce County, Washington. We do not operate out of a shelter, instead we rely on our network of foster homes to care for our animals until they are adopted. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS
The first step, if you are interested in adopting one of our dogs or cats, is to fill out and submit an adoption applicat

ion. You can request an application by emailing us. A volunteer will contact you after it has been submitted to speak with you about your application and about the pet you are applying to adopt. If you rent, we require your landlord's permission to adopt a dog or a cat. We require a completely fenced yard to adopt a dog. All adopters must agree to and sign an adoption agreement. We do not adopt out pets as gifts unless the recipient is there to pick out the pet themselves. All pets are spayed or neutered before adoption. ADOPTION FEES
Kittens & adult cats are $175.00

Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, tested for FIV and Felv, and are given the vaccinations for Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici Virus, Panleukopenia, and Rabies (If 4 months of age or older). Dogs and Puppies are $300.00 with an additional $50.00 obedience training refundable deposit. When you complete an accredited obedience class with your new dog we will send you back the $50.00 deposit. Dogs and puppies are spayed or neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, and are given the vaccinations for Distemper, Parvo, and Rabies (If 4 months of age or older). ADOPTION EVENT LOCATIONS
Our rescue partners with the Petsmart in Sunrise Village located at:
10309 156th St E,
Puyallup, WA 98373. Our adoptable cats and kittens are at the Sunrise PetSmart every day for potential adopters to meet with and visit in the cat room. Some of our adoptable cats stay in foster homes and so they are not available for viewing at PetSmart. Please check our Petfinder Pet List to see all of our cats that are available for adoption. Our adoptable dogs are in foster homes and they are brought to adoption events which are normally on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at the Sunrise PetSmart. Dogs are also brought to PetSmart's special adoption events. Please contact us and not PetSmart to verify adoption status if you are interested in a specific pet. VOLUNTEERING
We are a foster home-based adoption agency for our dogs and cats. We rely on our network of volunteers to care for the animals until they find permanent homes. If you would like to foster for us, please email us and request a foster application! If you are unable to foster, there are other opportunities, such as attending and helping out at our bi-monthly adoption events. Please send us an email if you are interested! DONATIONS

COURTESY POST!!
🐾 Meet Lobo! Your New Best Friend! 🐾
This handsome 3-year-old pup is Lobo, and he’s ready to find his forever home! 🏡 With his playful and sweet nature, Lobo is sure to steal your heart. 💙
🌟 Lobo's Highlights:
• 3 years old
• Up-to-date on vaccines
• Microchipped and neutered
• Gets along well with most dogs (his best friend is a Boston Terrier!)
• Good with kids
• Ignored a cat in his previous home 🐱
• Very playful and loves to have fun!
• Needs a fenced yard to keep him safe, as he loves to explore when given the chance 🚶‍♂️
While Lobo is a ball of energy, he’s also gentle and loving. He might not have hit it off with every dog (a German Shepherd didn’t appreciate his playful spirit), but he truly thrives in a home where he’s loved and active!
If you're looking for a furry friend who will bring joy, playfulness, and loyalty to your family, Lobo might just be the one for you!
For additional information or to adopt Lobo email [email protected] for an application

Armin and Erin are a pair of 1 year old brothers!

Erin has the white blaze on his nose.

Both boys are very playful and energetic when they are awake! They love to run around the house when it is quiet. They also seem to be curious of what you are doing and will stop to watch you.

They have been in foster since the end of January 2024 and have gotten a lot more comfortable about their foster humans. At first, they would not leave their foster room, but now they run throughout the house!

Both kittens love to play with the feather toy, small mice and chasing the laser pointer. They pick up the toy mice and carry them around. They will also eat cat treats from their foster person’s finger. The kittens love playing together.

They both dislike loud noises.

Erin is still a little skittish but has gotten better the more he is played with, and he does like to be petted when he is tired.

Both kittens do not like being held, sitting in laps, or snuggled at this time. Their foster family is still working with them to help them be more comfortable about being handled.

Armin seems to be more confident than his brother and loves to be petted.

Armin and Erin have met other adult cats in their foster home and they do well interacting with them. They will sit next to the older cats if they are sitting on the windowsill.

Armin and Erin do best with older children. As long as people are not being too loud, the kittens will hang around.

They do not have experience with dogs.

Armin and Erin would prefer a home together so that they are able to play together. A home with another adult cat who can teach them manners and who wants kittens for company would be an ideal match.

The adoption fee is $350 for this wonderful pair!

All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FIV&felv, and have been treated for parasites.

AVAILABLE for ADOPTION!

SQUEAKY-PETE is a very sweet young cat who loves to curl up on your lap!

Belly rubs are a must!

He enjoys playing with the feather wand while interacting with his foster Mom.

One of his favorite pastimes is choosing his toys from the box, you can see the video on his Petfinder profile here:
https://www.petfinder.com/cat/squeaky-pete-73694201/wa/puyallup/puyallup-animal-rescue-wa73/

His vocal sounds are more like a squeak hence, his name Squeaky-Pete.

He is timid at first until he learns that he can trust you.

He likes to be the only cat in his home.

You may notice that his eyes are slightly mishappen however, that does not affect his vision.

This is what Marvin looked like when we pulled him out of the shelter. His eyes have now been surgically corrected, and he is ready to find a forever home. He us only about 10 months old and is a very happy fellow. We guess his breed is a Jack Russell mix so he is high energy. If interested in Marvin please email [email protected] for an application

Meet Emmett:
Emmett is an absolute love bug! He will snuggle with you all evening and all night if given the chance. He definitely thinks he's a lapdog and wants to be as close to you as he can be. He's energetic and loves to play, chomping at the water coming out of the hose in the warmer weather and noshing on his toys, stuffed and tuff, with equal delight when the weather is Western Washington gray and drizzly. He gets along great with dogs his size and will romp and wrestle until they're all exhausted. Small dogs and cats are exceedingly exciting for Emmett and they aren't the right companions for him. He's eager to train and is very food motivated. He knows sit and touch, and is very comfortable in a crate. We're working on "wait" for his dinner and taking treats softly, as he's an eager beaver for anything food related. He's a sniffer out on walks, and needs continued guidance to help with pulling to get to his next sweet-smelling destination. He'd make a great companion for trails and hiking. He's in great health, steadily putting on weight after being found very thin. There was certainly neglect in his past, and we suspect some abuse as well. He can be timid at first, sometimes including submissive urination, but with patience and encouragement he comes around pretty quickly. (We haven't had an incident of submissive urination in quite some time now.) He's been with us since July and we are seeking a forever home for him. We would love to keep this boy in our family, but know that it's not the right long-term fit for him or our other pets. Due to a recent change in our circumstances, having a family member diagnosed with a terminal illness, and needing to care for them, we're not able to give Emmett the love and attention that he deserves and needs. So we're reaching out to find a great family that can give Emmett all the love he can handle!

Emmett is believed to be an American Pitbull Terrier and a black Labrador Retriever mix. He's approximately 45-50lbs, and is between 2-4 years old
