(96)

We are a nonprofit rescue group dedicated to finding permanent homes for homeless dogs and cats in Pierce County, Washington. We do not operate out of a shelter, instead we rely on our network of foster homes to care for our animals until they are adopted. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS
The first step, if you are interested in adopting one of our dogs or cats, is to fill out and submit an adoption applicat

ion. You can request an application by emailing us. A volunteer will contact you after it has been submitted to speak with you about your application and about the pet you are applying to adopt. If you rent, we require your landlord's permission to adopt a dog or a cat. We require a completely fenced yard to adopt a dog. All adopters must agree to and sign an adoption agreement. We do not adopt out pets as gifts unless the recipient is there to pick out the pet themselves. All pets are spayed or neutered before adoption. ADOPTION FEES
Kittens & adult cats are $175.00

Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, tested for FIV and Felv, and are given the vaccinations for Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici Virus, Panleukopenia, and Rabies (If 4 months of age or older). Dogs and Puppies are $300.00 with an additional $50.00 obedience training refundable deposit. When you complete an accredited obedience class with your new dog we will send you back the $50.00 deposit. Dogs and puppies are spayed or neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, and are given the vaccinations for Distemper, Parvo, and Rabies (If 4 months of age or older). ADOPTION EVENT LOCATIONS
Our rescue partners with the Petsmart in Sunrise Village located at:
10309 156th St E,
Puyallup, WA 98373. Our adoptable cats and kittens are at the Sunrise PetSmart every day for potential adopters to meet with and visit in the cat room. Some of our adoptable cats stay in foster homes and so they are not available for viewing at PetSmart. Please check our Petfinder Pet List to see all of our cats that are available for adoption. Our adoptable dogs are in foster homes and they are brought to adoption events which are normally on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at the Sunrise PetSmart. Dogs are also brought to PetSmart's special adoption events. Please contact us and not PetSmart to verify adoption status if you are interested in a specific pet. VOLUNTEERING
We are a foster home-based adoption agency for our dogs and cats. We rely on our network of volunteers to care for the animals until they find permanent homes. If you would like to foster for us, please email us and request a foster application! If you are unable to foster, there are other opportunities, such as attending and helping out at our bi-monthly adoption events. Please send us an email if you are interested! DONATIONS

This is what Marvin looked like when we pulled him out of the shelter. His eyes have now been surgically corrected, and he is ready to find a forever home. He us only about 10 months old and is a very happy fellow. We guess his breed is a Jack Russell mix so he is high energy. If interested in Marvin please email [email protected] for an application

Meet Emmett:
Emmett is an absolute love bug! He will snuggle with you all evening and all night if given the chance. He definitely thinks he's a lapdog and wants to be as close to you as he can be. He's energetic and loves to play, chomping at the water coming out of the hose in the warmer weather and noshing on his toys, stuffed and tuff, with equal delight when the weather is Western Washington gray and drizzly. He gets along great with dogs his size and will romp and wrestle until they're all exhausted. Small dogs and cats are exceedingly exciting for Emmett and they aren't the right companions for him. He's eager to train and is very food motivated. He knows sit and touch, and is very comfortable in a crate. We're working on "wait" for his dinner and taking treats softly, as he's an eager beaver for anything food related. He's a sniffer out on walks, and needs continued guidance to help with pulling to get to his next sweet-smelling destination. He'd make a great companion for trails and hiking. He's in great health, steadily putting on weight after being found very thin. There was certainly neglect in his past, and we suspect some abuse as well. He can be timid at first, sometimes including submissive urination, but with patience and encouragement he comes around pretty quickly. (We haven't had an incident of submissive urination in quite some time now.) He's been with us since July and we are seeking a forever home for him. We would love to keep this boy in our family, but know that it's not the right long-term fit for him or our other pets. Due to a recent change in our circumstances, having a family member diagnosed with a terminal illness, and needing to care for them, we're not able to give Emmett the love and attention that he deserves and needs. So we're reaching out to find a great family that can give Emmett all the love he can handle!

Emmett is believed to be an American Pitbull Terrier and a black Labrador Retriever mix. He's approximately 45-50lbs, and is between 2-4 years old

Courtesy Post: Rehoming Cocoa
Why are we rehoming Cocoa? This has been the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make. We love Cocoa deeply, but we’ve realized we can’t provide the environment she needs to truly thrive. Our household includes a cat, and while Coca hasn’t hurt her, we’ve concerned about her prey drive. Additionally, walking Cocoa has become challenging for me and my daughter due to her strength and enthusiasm. She’s made significant progress with training, but her natural instincts mean she requires an owner who is physically capable of managing her on walks and can ensure her safety. All cards on the table: I’ve fallen twice while walking Cocoa in front of my daughter. I don’t have much strength due to medical issues and my daughter is now terrified every time I take Cocoa out for a walk. It’s breaking my heart, but I just can’t walk her safely in my condition.
Cocoas perfect home:
Cocoa is looking for a home with no small animals and ideally, a medium to large dog she can play with. She needs an active lifestyle with plenty of exercise and stimulation. Her new family should be patient, understanding and able to continue her training to help her reach her full potential. Most of all, they should be ready to give her the love and attention she so richly deserves.
If you think you can provide Cocoa with the perfect home, please contact Delilah via email at [email protected]. Delilah is committed to finding the best possible home for Cocoa and are happy to answer any questions about this amazing girl.

Nugget is AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

Nugget is a 2 year old spayed female, tortie tabby and white, shorthair cat.

Nugget is bashful at first, however she warms up to new people with a little bit of time and then loves attention! She dislikes loud noises. Her favorite places to hide are under the bed and in the closet. She is easy to coax out because she REALLY wants to be loved.

Nugget enjoys being held and she will sit on your lap. She loves being petted and snuggling. She will even flop over and seems to enjoy having her belly rubbed.

She seems like a calm, low energy type of cat.

In her foster home, Nugget has met other young cats and did very well meeting them.

She got along with a small chihuahua dog in the past.

We do not know how she would be around children, however we feel they would be too much for her.

We feel Nugget would appreciate a calm, quiet home with someone able to give love and give attention to her.

Her adoption fee is $175.00

All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FIV&felv, and have been treated for parasites.

Seraphina is AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

Seraphina is a 7 month old spayed female, domestic shorthair, brown tabby cat.

Seraphina is a feisty little girl and loves to roughhouse with her siblings during playtime. She's also very persistent in all of her adventures and endeavors. She is very curious little girl. She can be shy at first; however she warms up to new people pretty quickly. And she loves attention from people she knows.

She does not mind being picked up, but she does not enjoy being held for longer than necessary

She loves being petted and talking to you. She learned how to growl and boop her siblings when they try to eat her food.

One of her favorite activities is to play “chase” with the teen in her foster home. They chase each other through the house! She also loves to play with toys. She also enjoys scrolling on the iPad and playing iPad cat games.

She does well with her littermates in her foster home.

She has lived with a medium-sized dog in her foster home and does well with them.

Her adoption fee is $175.00

All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FIV&felv, and have been treated for parasites.
