Bridlepath Equine Center

Bridlepath Equine Center is a 501(c)3 Therapeutic Horsemanship Program in Southern Lancaster County. We are set to open for services in Fall 2023.

Bridlepath Equine Center is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit Therapeutic Horsemanship Program located in Quarryville, PA on Trailside Farm. Our mission is to pave a pathway of growth and independence for individuals with special needs utilizing therapeutic horsemanship and specialized group programming. Bridlepath Equine Center’s vision is to continuously facilitate a welcoming learning environment

for individuals with special needs utilizing our equine teammates and farm atmosphere in ways that provide physical, emotional, behavioral, and intellectual benefits both on the farm and in the individual’s everyday activities. We were honored to launch a new 6-week curriculum in partnership with Friendship Community through May & June! All of the participants did a great job sharpening their horsemanship skills through groundwork, equine nutrition, first aid, and horse care. Looking forward to the next round!

Welcome to our newest instructor, Lena!

Lena just graduated from Delaware Valley University developing her skills in equine management, with a focus on teaching riding lessons and is actively working towards her PATH certification. When asked about this new position, she says that she is "especially interested in building horse and rider relationships and finds such fulfillment in watching riders grow. I also enjoy continuing to learn through hands on experiences. I’m looking forward to contributing my skills in horsemanship and teaching while continuing to develop, learn, and grow! I’m excited to be a part of the Bridlepath team and I cannot wait to meet you all!"

Join us in giving her a warm welcome to the team as we grow the number of amazing individuals we can serve at Bridlepath!

The final touches are being set as we prepare for our THIRD annual Bridlepath Race Day Fundraiser TOMORROW, June 13th! The weather looks beautiful with the morning starting around 65 degrees and warming up to 85 degrees; and the sunshine will be joining all of your smiles, as well! Here are some important housekeeping items:

1. Event Schedule:
8:30am - 5k & 10k Race Start
10:15am - 1 Mile (pet-friendly) Walk **ALL PETS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES**
11am - Kids Giddy-Up Run (Ages 2-8)
10am - Chicken Barbeque UNTIL SUPPLIES LAST
9am, 10am, & 12pm - Guided Tours through our facility

2. Registration & Runner/Walker Bag Pickup will be available TODAY, June 12 from 5-7pm, and reopens TOMORROW, June 13th at 7:30am. This will be located in the upper level of the bank barn. We welcome day-of registrations! Cash, check, and card are accepted.

3. All general parking will be in the horse pasture to the right of the driveway when you pull in, including for chicken barbeque pickup. There will also be a horse tie available for folks arriving in a buggy. Handicap parking will be available in the main Bridlepath parking lot. Parking attendants will be present to help guide people.

4. We will have eating areas (indoor and outdoor) available for folks who are enjoying the chicken barbecue. A full meal costs $10; just the chicken leg & thigh is $5. Cash, check, and card are accepted.

🐴Our final Hoofbeat Haven program for the season will run on Tuesday mornings from 10am-12pm beginning July 7-July 28 for ages 4-11!

Hoofbeat Haven is a 4-week curriculum geared towards cancer patients and survivors. Funding may be available through Four Diamonds, and financial aid is available for those who qualify. Spots are limited, so register today or reach out with any questions! We'd be honored to have you join!

📣Bridlepath Race Day - SCHEDULED TOURS!

New this year, we are offering scheduled guided tours during our Bridlepath Race Day Fundraiser on Saturday, June 13! Walk through our facility with a representative of Bridlepath to hear about the services we offer, how we utilize our adaptive equipment, meet our incredible program horses, and more! Tours are open to the public at 9am, 10am, and 12pm, starting promptly in the Guest Lounge.

Our other activities of the day include:
*5k & 10k Trail Run @ 8:30am
*1-Mile Walk (pet-friendly) @ 10:15am
*Kid's Giddy-Up Run @ 11am
*Chicken Barbeque @ 10am UNTIL SUPPLIES LAST

Meet Gale - our June Volunteer Spotlight!

Thank you Gale, and all of our amazing volunteers for your part in our growing program. Interested in joining the volunteer crew? Our next round of volunteer orientation trainings will be held as follows:

Part 1 - Monday, June 29at 6pm-7:15pm
Part 2 - Friday, July 17th from 5:30pm-7:30pm

Please submit a volunteer inquiry to be contacted about these trainings - we'd be honored to have you as part of our team! All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older and submit a volunteer packet, including background clearances.
