We were very excited to send out our first newsletter earlier this week, both via snail mail and email. Check out a snapshot below!

As we head into Thanksgiving, we are incredibly grateful this week and every week for our community's continuous support. We appreciate you all and are humbled to have you be a part of Bridlepath. Thank you!

On Fridays, we typically have schooling rides with our lovely program horses as a way to keep their bodies and brains physically and mentally engaged, which in turn aids in providing higher quality sessions for our participants. Today, our schooling rides included some enrichment time in the creek... I think it's safe to say Oakley especially enjoyed himself! Benson and Tank soon joined in on the fun, too! 🥰

Thank you to our incredible volunteers for decorating Bridlepath for Christmas this evening!

We have our main tree in the family lounge, which have paper ornaments hanging. On the ornaments, we have written our wishlist items with desired products that will benefit our therapeutic horsemanship program. You may take an ornament off the tree if you feel led and would like to donate any of those items. Thank you so much in advance!

There are also blank ornaments on the tree that participants, volunteers, and guests are welcome to take home to decorate and then bring back to hang on the tree. You may also use the blank ornaments to write Christmas notes to our horses that can be put in their stockings, which are also hung in the family lounge. It's starting to feel like Christmas around here!!

As we approach the year end, we humbly thank our volunteers, community, donors, sponsors, board of directors, and the Kauffman's for playing a huge part in making our start-up far exceed our expectations of what this first year would look like for Bridlepath. I'll say it time and time again, we truly couldn't have done it without all of you in addition to God's goodness!

Heading into 2024, would you consider continuing to support Bridlepath through monthly or one-time financial or item donations? We also have sponsorship opportunities for both business and individuals alike that include participant and horse sponsorships, along with Business Banners and Individual / Family Commemorative Brass Plates displayed at our outdoor riding arena. You may check out our website linked below for more information about ways to support us, or you may reach out directly to Danielle at (717)945-2799, [email protected] - we are forever grateful for past and future gifts. Thank you!

These funds will go towards our fixed operating expenses such as nutritional, vet and farrier care for our horses, along with critical operational commitments that keep us up and running to be able to provide equine assisted therapeutic services to our incredible participants. Thank you all!!

Our volunteer team is AMAZING! Thank you Scott, Danny, Abbey, Trisha, Steph, Rick, Lorri, Gale, Tim, Kris, Lee, and Kylie for doing a deep clean of our facility, sharpening up our trails, and creating our sensory riding trail (with 6 stations focusing on hand/eye coordination, gross & fine motor skills, spatial awareness, balance, and more) for our participants next week! Please join me in thanking this crew for working through the heat today and helping the facility look it's best.

If you would like to take a walk through our sensory trail, please join us at our Open House on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10am-2pm. We would love to see you there!

09/07/2023

As we are on the final stretch before opening for services next week (can hardly believe it!), I wanted to take a moment and recognize Lee and Kris Kauffman, who are the owners of Trailside Farm in which Bridlepath Equine Center resides.

I am deeply humbled for this opportunity to partner with the Kauffman's to serve an incredible population of individuals with special needs. It has been a blessing to work alongside them, and I admire their desire and example in serving the Lord through their property.

I wish everyone would have had the opportunity to see the farm before all of the remodeling began. Lee has worked, and continues to work, endless hours on top of an already busy schedule to make the farm look as beautiful as it is today. Projects have included, but are certainly not limited to, coordination of construction projects, pasture maintenance, seeding of new grass areas, landscaping, and all of the little, but important, details in between. Kris has played a huge role in joining me for networking with other programs and businesses, designing and decorating our family lounge and other rooms, and coming up with a variety of ideas for fundraising and other community events.

They both do all of the above, and so much more, always with a smile and kindness - please join me in thanking them for their time, dedication, passion, and efforts! I am so excited to open our doors next week for our participants and their families, but I'm all the more ecstatic about sharing the atmosphere of Bridlepath and Trailside Farm with the community in a way that is glorifying to God (and I know the Kauffman's share this dream). Thank you everyone for your continued support as we jump in to a new adventure - we're honored to have you join alongside us!

We are beyond excited to share a sneak peak of what our facility is looking like in comparison to where it started back in December 2022 - please enjoy! We have felt the Lord's hand in this big time, and we feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share this facility with you! Thank you especially to Lee & Kris Kauffman, all of the contractors, donors, and the many volunteers for their hard work, dedication, and passion in completing the large variety of projects around the farm. We are humbled to be able to say we are officially opening for services the week of September 11, 2023, and have already started filling the schedule with participants. Volunteer trainings are well under way, and are beyond grateful for those who have signed up so far - we truly couldn't do our program without all of our incredible volunteers and amazing program horses!

Please mark your calendars for Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10am-2pm for a drop-in Open House at Bridlepath Equine Center. This is a family friendly event, and we would love to have you join! The first 100 families will receive goodie bags; this event is a great way to meet our staff, volunteers, and horses while also getting a taste of what our program is all about. We look forward to seeing you then!

Hi friends! We are currently on the search for a large pony to join our herd of therapeutic program horses as we prepare to open for services in September. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit program, we would welcome the donation of a horse or pony, but funds are available for the right fit. If you or someone you know has a large pony who would fit the below requirements, please have them call Danielle at (717)945-2799 or email at [email protected]. Thank you so much in advance for your help in finding our next equine teammate!

Need:
- In the 13-14H height range
- Narrow Build
- Sound at the walk, trot, canter
- Tolerant of sudden noises or movements from both the rider and on the ground, comfortable with both arena and trail work
- Looking for a non-gaited large pony
- Light maintenance is okay

Preferred:
- In the 5-15 years old range, but would be willing to go a little bit older for the right fit
- Gelding as we currently have 2 other geldings, but would be open to a mare who does well living with geldings
- Western Pleasure training, has a soft jog for our riders who need smaller movement
- Within 2 hours of zip code 17566, as we would want to come meet and trial ride

Wouldn't be an appropriate fit:
-Unsound at more than the walk
-Unable to be ridden by a multitude of riders of varying abilities (from maximum assistance to independent)
-Poor or dangerous ground manners
-Grouchy when being groomed and tacked up

It is very important to us that our herd enjoys their job, and enjoys being around a multitude of people. Our horses live out 24/7 where they are on a dry lot with hay & shelter during the day and a large pasture over night with shelter. They all have off at least 2 days a week and are worked with no more than 2-3 hours a day on their working days. Thank you!

It's been a big week at Bridlepath Equine Center, and it is making us so very excited to show you all that we've been working on! Stay tuned for an album of progress pictures of how the property is looking! But for our big big news...

1. Our road sign is officially up and we LOVE it!

2. We recently received our 501(c)3 tax exempt status approval as a non-profit, which means that the full value of your contribution will be deductible for income tax purposes, including for both a financial donation or an item donation.

3. We are honored and humbled to have been offered a $25,000 match for any donation that comes in between now and the end of 2023! If you feel led, and would like to donate, please visit our website at https://www.bridlepathequinecenter.org/support for more info on ways to donate. We thank you immensely in advance - all donations will go towards providing higher quality services for our incredible participants, optimum care for our amazing program horses, and overall maintenance of our facility.

Thank you all for your support so far. We are so close to opening for services, and we feel very blessed for how everything is coming together! We appreciate you!
