Bridlepath Equine Center Bridlepath Equine Center is a 501(c)3 Therapeutic Horsemanship Program in Southern Lancaster County. We are set to open for services in Fall 2023.

Bridlepath Equine Center is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit Therapeutic Horsemanship Program located in Quarryville, PA on Trailside Farm. Our mission is to pave a pathway of growth and independence for individuals with special needs utilizing therapeutic horsemanship and specialized group programming. Bridlepath Equine Center’s vision is to continuously facilitate a welcoming learning environment

for individuals with special needs utilizing our equine teammates and farm atmosphere in ways that provide physical, emotional, behavioral, and intellectual benefits both on the farm and in the individual’s everyday activities. 🌟🌟Thank you so much to Lancaster Elks Lodge #134 for their incredibly generous donation to Bridlepath Equine Center through their Elksgiving 2025 event! This lovely committee of ladies put in a ton of work, passion, and dedication for a successful event to raise funds for local nonprofits - we greatly appreciate their impact on our therapeutic horsemanship program and participants. The boys have regular round table discussions in the hay hut, especially on chilly days like today, and the topic of discussion this morning was !

We are at $17,502 of our $20,000 Match - would you consider making a donation towards the match today? Here are some ways your dollars make an impact on our therapeutic horsemanship program:

$25 - Goes towards one days worth of hay for our horses

It’s beginning to look like Christmas around the farm! Our wishlist tree is set up where folks can take an ornament off the tree. Each ornament has either our Amazon wishlist QR code or a general wishlist item. If you feel led, you may take an ornament and then return the wishlist item to the bottom of the tree! There are also blank ornaments available for participants, volunteers, and guests to decorate for the Indoor Arena tree as participants work on their horsemanship skills this holiday season. You may also choose to write a letter & put it in one of the horse’s stockings located in the guest lounge!

🌟👏With funds raised through ExtraGive and other year-end donations, we are excited to share that we are well on our way to meeting our $20,000 Match!

What's even more exciting is that soon after Oakley & Jasper updated this white board, a couple more donations came in to bring our current total to $17,296! Once the boys have cleaned their hooves of kicking up mud in gratitude-filled celebration, we'll have them marker in the board again🎉. This morning we celebrated our wonderful volunteer crew with a Christmas brunch! To say we are thankful for this group of individuals is an understatement. These folks are an integral part of the successes and milestones our participants reach each week through session help, barn work, special events, and overall farm maintenance. Our final "meet the team" is with our crew of certified therapeutic riding instructors - Danielle, Michala, and Natalie! Time for another participant spotlight - Izabelle! Here is what her mom had to share about their time here at Bridlepath:

Since Izabelle started at Bridlepath, I have seen such a difference in her self-esteem. She is more willing to do things on her own, “things” that she thought would be too hard, but pushed her way through with Danielle’s help and accomplished the task, which makes her feel proud of herself, and willing to try new things. What the program has helped Izabelle with: trying new “things”; helped/helps self-esteem; doing “things” on her own; improving her endurance and physical strength, especially her core and legs; helping her balance; her speech; her ability to make decisions on her own; critical thinking skills.

Meet the Herd!

Nugget - 19 year old Dutch Warmblood Gelding
Oakley - 18 year old Registered Paint Gelding
Boss - 14 year old Appaloosa Gelding
Jasper - 8 year old Haflinger Cross Gelding
Etch - 13 year old POA Gelding

These boys serve 30 participants on a weekly basis, as well as in specialized group programs throughout the year such as Hoofbeat Haven (6-week pediatric oncology support group), Unbridled Courage (4-week support group for adoptive/foster care families of kiddos with special needs), Drill Team Camp (6-week program), and field trips for learning support classrooms and other at-risk populations.

Days like allow us to continue offering these services at affordable rates, despite the rising costs of horse care, supplies, and adding more horses & staff to the team to meet the needs of our extended waitlist.

Not only do we rely heavily on donations and grants, we rely heavily on our lovely volunteer crew of about 40 special individuals. These folks are one of the integral pillars of the work that we do - we truly couldn't do it without them! Our volunteers dedicate their time in sessions as leaders & sidewalkers, assist with barn work chores, help with special events, and keep our day-to-day activities running smoothly.

Join us in thanking our volunteers for being a part of the smiles and successes we get to witness daily with our participants!
