🏡 When to Transition Chicks to the Coop 🐣

As your chicks grow, there comes a time when they’re ready to leave the brooder behind and move into their new home—the coop! Here’s how to know when the time is right:

Chicks should be fully feathered, usually around 6-8 weeks old. Feathers help them regulate their body temperature, making them more resilient to cooler temperatures.

2. Weather Conditions 🌡️

Consider the current weather. If nights are still chilly, you might need to wait a bit longer or provide supplemental heat in the coop until the weather warms up.

3. Size and Strength 💪

Your chicks should be strong enough to safely navigate the coop and big enough to hold their own if they’re joining older hens. Keep an eye on how they adapt to the new space.
