Pet Dental Health – Why is it so important? 🦷🐾

Just like us, pets need regular dental care to stay healthy—and bad breath isn't just a nuisance, it could be a warning sign. Dental disease is one of the most common (and most preventable!) issues in dogs and cats.

Here’s why it matters:

🦷 Dental disease can be painful. Pets can’t tell you when their mouth hurts, but signs like drooling, pawing at the face, or skipping meals are red flags.

💔 It affects more than their mouth. Untreated dental infections can travel through the bloodstream, harming the heart, kidneys, and liver.

🪥 It’s preventable! A little daily care goes a long way. Here's how to help:

Brush their teeth regularly with pet-safe toothpaste

Use approved dental chews and toys

Schedule annual dental exams and cleanings

✨ A healthy mouth = a healthier, happier life.

🔥☀️ Summer is Fun — But It Can Be Hazardous for Pets!
Long walks, lake days, and sunny BBQs are the best parts of summer — but they come with hidden dangers for our four-legged family members. Here’s what you need to know to keep your pet safe during the hottest months:

🌡 1. Hot Pavement
Pavement, asphalt, and sand heat up fast. A quick walk can lead to painful paw burns.
Tip: Place your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. Too hot? Wait till it cools or walk during cooler hours.

🚗 2. Parked Cars Can Be Deadly
Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside a car can rise to 120°F in minutes. Pets can suffer from heatstroke or worse.
Tip: Never leave your pet unattended in a vehicle — not even for “just a minute.”

💧 3. Dehydration & Heatstroke
Excessive panting, drooling, weakness, or vomiting could be signs of overheating.
Tip: Always offer plenty of fresh water and shade. Avoid intense activity during peak heat.

🦟 4. Fleas, Ticks, & Mosquitoes
Summer brings a surge in pests that can transmit disease or cause allergic reactions.
Tip: Stay current on flea/tick prevention and ask your vet about heartworm prevention (mosquito-borne!).

🍗 5. BBQ & Cookout Dangers
Leftovers like bones, corn cobs, or fatty meats can cause serious GI issues — even pancreatitis.
Tip: Politely ask guests not to share, and keep trash secured.

🌊 6. Water Safety
Not all dogs are natural swimmers, and even strong swimmers can tire quickly.
Tip: Use pet life jackets near pools or lakes. Always supervise.

🎇 7. Fireworks & Loud Noises
Fireworks can trigger extreme anxiety or panic in pets, leading to escape attempts or injury.
Tip: Keep pets indoors during firework events. Create a safe space and ask your vet about calming options if needed.

🐾 FINAL THOUGHT:
If it’s too hot, loud, or risky for a toddler — it’s too risky for your pet. Let’s keep them safe, happy, and hydrated all summer long.

🌞🐾 July Recap: Ice Cream, Bottle Babies , and CPR Battles — Oh My!

July was packed with sweet moments, tiny miracles, and a whole lot of heart.

🍦We kicked things off with Smile Day – Ice Cream Edition — because what’s better than sprinkles and whipped cream? Sprinkles, whipped cream, and a team full of hardworking humans taking a well-deserved moment to smile, laugh, and indulge in something sweet. We celebrated each other and the joy we bring to this chaotic, compassionate job.

🐱We cared for some of the tiniest patients to ever grace our ICU — newborn bottle babies who stole our hearts with their squeaky meows and wobbly heads. These little fighters reminded us why we do what we do: for every tiny life that needs a chance and every person who loves them.

💉We also brought the heat with a CPR Battle — where our team split into squads and competed to show off their life-saving skills in a high-pressure mock code. It wasn’t just about fun (though there was plenty of that). It was about sharpening our skills, staying sharp for when every second counts, and lifting each other up through collaboration and a little friendly competition.

🌟Behind every shift, there was a story. Of a patient who pulled through, of a team member who went the extra mile, of the kind of teamwork that doesn’t just happen — it’s built, shift by shift, hug by hug, shared coffee by shared coffee.

We’re proud, we’re tired, we’re a little sticky from ice cream — but most of all, we’re grateful to be here. Together.

❤️ Thank you to our amazing team and incredible clients for making July unforgettable. Here's to the chaos, the compassion, and the community we’ve built.

🚣‍♀️ Teamwork, Oars, and a Splash of Chaos 🚣‍♂️
When the work crew trades scrubs for life vests... things get a little paddle-y. 🛶💦

Our team-building day on the water was full of laughs, teamwork, and maybe a few unintentional swims. From synchronized strokes to accidental splashes, we reminded ourselves that the best teams don’t just work together — they float together. 💙

Here’s to more adventures, stronger bonds, and always having someone to paddle with (even if they can't steer).

🎆 4th of July Pet Safety Tips! 🐾

While we humans may love the fireworks, BBQs, and festivities — our furry friends definitely don’t. Keep your pets safe and stress-free this Independence Day with these quick tips:

🔒 Keep them indoors — Loud noises and flashing lights can spook pets, causing them to bolt or panic. Secure them in a quiet, escape-proof room.

🎧 Create a calm space — Turn on calming music, white noise, or the TV to help mask fireworks sounds.

🐶 Skip the scraps — BBQ food and party treats can upset your pet’s stomach (or worse). Keep people food out of paw’s reach!

🧨 Avoid fireworks exposure — Fireworks are terrifying for pets and can lead to anxiety, injuries, or even running away.

🆔 Update ID tags & microchips — Just in case they slip out, make sure your pet’s ID is current and microchip info is up to date.

🎇 Let’s celebrate safely — for all members of the family. 💙🐾
