🐾 Pet Care Myths vs. Facts 🐾
Are you falling for some common pet care myths? Let's set the record straight! 👇

💡 MYTH: A wagging tail always means a dog is happy.
✅ FACT: While a wagging tail can signal happiness, it can also indicate excitement, anxiety, or even aggression. Pay attention to the dog's body language as a whole!

💡 MYTH: Cats only purr when they're happy.
✅ FACT: Cats purr for many reasons, including comfort, stress relief, and even pain. If your cat is purring but seems off, it’s a good idea to check in with your vet.

💡 MYTH: Pets eat grass because they’re sick.
✅ FACT: Many pets eat grass simply because they like the taste or texture. However, if your pet is eating grass frequently and vomiting, consult your veterinarian.

💡 MYTH: You should let your pet have one litter before spaying or neutering.
✅ FACT: There's no health benefit to allowing a litter first. Spaying or neutering early can prevent certain cancers and behavioral issues.

💡 MYTH: Pets' mouths are cleaner than humans’.
✅ FACT: Pets’ mouths contain their own mix of bacteria. Regular dental care is essential to prevent disease and keep those kisses safe!

💡 MYTH: Indoor pets don’t need vaccinations.
✅ FACT: Even indoor pets can be exposed to diseases through open windows, other pets, or trips outside. Vaccines are an important part of keeping them healthy.

🐾 Taking care of your furry friends means separating facts from fiction! If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Let’s keep those tails wagging and whiskers twitching!

What a month! From late-night snuggles in the ER to cheering on our brave blood donors, we kept tails wagging and purrs rolling. We even enjoyed some not-so-serious moments to keep spirits high—like our word-guessing showdown where a wrong answer meant a face full of water! Our team never stopped learning, caring, and adding new tricks to our playbook. Thanks for trusting us with your furry best friends—we’re looking forward to an even more pawsome December!

Behind every wagging tail and happy purr is this team of pet-loving superheroes. Whether it’s soothing the drama queen chihuahua, convincing a cat that we’re not evil, or figuring out how to outsmart the sneaky treat-stealers, we’re up for the challenge! 💪🐾
We may not wear capes, but we do rock scrubs like pros. And yes, coffee and animal cuddles are our secret weapons. ☕🐕🐈

🦃 Thanksgiving Pet Safety Tips! 🦃

Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude and great food, but let’s make sure our furry friends stay safe during the festivities! 🐾

🍗 Table Scraps: Not for Pets!
Avoid sharing fatty or seasoned foods like turkey skin, stuffing, or gravy. These can upset their stomach or cause serious issues like pancreatitis.

🍫 Watch the Sweets!
Keep desserts with chocolate, xylitol (found in sugar-free items), or raisins out of reach—they’re toxic to pets.

🗑️ Secure the Trash!
Bones, foil, and food packaging in the trash can tempt curious noses. Secure garbage to prevent choking or blockages.

🍷 Alcohol is a No-No!
Even small amounts of alcohol can be dangerous for pets. Keep drinks and cooking wines well away from them.

🌸 Beware of Decorations!
Some plants, like amaryllis or lilies, are toxic to pets. Be cautious with candles and festive décor they might chew on.

🛋️ Provide a Quiet Space
With guests coming and going, some pets may feel overwhelmed. Create a safe, calm area for them to relax.

**Warning: Graphic images**

Every month, our team highlights a core commitment we make to our patients and their families. This month, our promise is to provide empathy, care, and compassion throughout every stage of your pet's life. To demonstrate the depth of this commitment, we’d like to share the story of a remarkable patient who truly embodies our promise: Daisy.

Daisy first came to our ER on June 19th, suffering from pain in her right shoulder. After receiving treatment for a soft tissue injury, she returned just days later on June 22nd, with her leg swollen and an open wound in her armpit. Our team carefully cleaned the area and discovered extensive bruising on her chest, armpit, and down her leg. The doctor suspected the cause was a spider bite. Daisy went home, but the very next day, she was back for surgery. During the procedure, her doctor removed a large area of necrotic tissue and applied a tie-over bandage to protect the wound. Since that first visit, our team has had the privilege of caring for Daisy 29 times, re-assessing her wounds and reapplying the bandages at each visit. This has been a long journey for Daisy and her family, and without the unwavering dedication of our team and the strength of Daisy’s loving family, we wouldn't have come this far.

Throughout each visit, our team made sure to take extra time to comfort Daisy and support her family. We eagerly anticipated her visits, handling her bandages with the utmost care and always keeping in mind the discomfort she was enduring. Daisy also received multiple Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments to help accelerate her healing. Every interaction reinforced our commitment to providing compassionate and empathetic care, ensuring Daisy felt not only supported and comforted but truly loved on her recovery journey. Though Daisy still has some healing left to do, her progress has been nothing short of remarkable, and we are incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to care for her every step of the way.
