Common signs your horse will benefit from a massage:
🐴 Appears stiff
🐴 Grumpy when cinched up or behavioural changes.
🐴 Poor (or reduced) flexibility.
🐴 Unwillingness (in all work or specific movements).
🐴 Bucking
🐴 Refusing to do things that were once easy
🐴 Headshaking or head shyness.

When should my horse not get a massage?

•Discharge/mucous from eyes and nose
- Massage techniques will simply encourage the production of mucous
☀️
• Infectious diseases
- Strangles, herpes, pneumonia, etc. massage can encourage the spread of infection through the body.
☀️
• Deep wound less than 7 days old
- Can cause reopening& stop healing.
☀️
•Colic
- Massage can alter the muscular actions.
☀️

It’s important to note that some situations can actually be made worse if they were to have equine massage therapy applied to them.
