HTDR Adoption Spotlight- Hans!
Hans is a 1.5 year old, male, long-haired black and tan full Doxie. He came to HTDR as an owner surrender. Hans is good with small dogs and older kids, but not good with cats. He’s house trained on a schedule, doggie door trained, and leash trained. He does not like the kennel. Hans is timid at first, and has not been very well socialized with new situations. However, once he’s comfortable, he will hyper bond with his human and rely on you for security. Hans does get separation anxiety and will howl when you leave him, so no apartments, condos, or shared walls for him.
Hans is a very sweet boy, who will be the best companion dog. He’s a total lap dog, and loves to sleep with his people at night. He loves toys and will play fetch anytime, anywhere. Hans has even started to play with other dogs in his foster home.
Hans will do best in a home with someone home more often than not. In a single-family home with no shared walls and with another confident dog that can help show him the ropes.
From Hans’ foster family, “Hans is timid at first, but once he’s comfortable he’s very sweet. And when he finds out you know how to toss a ball for him, he will be your forever friend. He adores lap time and belly rubs. He’s a kisser for sure. He just wants to be loved and to feel safe.”
