Meet Autumn 🌟 She’s been with QCVC for 4 years, starting out at reception before working her way up to technician. Along the way, she’s discovered her love for urgent care medicine, where every day brings something new, and her passion for surgery, where she gets to stay close to her patients and care for them throughout the day. But for Autumn, the most important part of veterinary medicine has always been the same — building genuine bonds with the animals she meets. She’s their advocate and their voice, making sure they feel safe, supported, and loved. 🐾

Outside of the clinic, Autumn devotes herself to growth and curiosity — whether it’s through martial arts, reading, or exploring her passion for marine sciences. Her dream for the future is to take her skills into conservation, protecting marine mammals and preserving our oceans. 🌊🐋 At home, she shares her heart with her beloved black cat, Kitty 🖤

Our annual QCVC kayaking trip on the Salt River was another big success! 🌞 The morning was filled with games like kayak chariot racing and paddleboard tug-of-war, plus plenty of splashes and laughs along the way. Getting together outside of the clinic for this tradition reminds us how much fun we can have as a team, both on and off the water 🚣‍♂️💛

At QCVC, we believe joy in our work comes from three things: the patients we care for, the team we share it with, and the community that supports us. August gave us all three in abundance. We met so many sweet furry faces, took our annual kayak trip to celebrate each other, and brought a little magic into the clinic with a dragon-themed smile day. Here’s to carrying that energy into fall!🤍🍂✨

Did you know most pets show signs of dental disease by age 3? But here’s the thing — dental disease isn’t just about what you see on the surface. The real concern is what’s happening beneath the gumline, where infections and bone loss can quietly cause serious pain and long-term health issues.

At QCVC, we include dental imaging with every cleaning. Why? Because it gives us a clear picture of what’s going on under the gums — helping us detect hidden disease, assess tooth health, and decide the best course of treatment.

Here’s how you can help your pet stay happy and healthy:
✅ Annual dental checkups
✅ Brushing at home (yes, it’s possible!)
✅ Watch for signs like bad breath, drooling, or chewing on one side
✅ Professional cleanings with full oral exams and imaging

Let’s keep those tails wagging and those smiles shining! 😸🐶

July was a month to remember here at QCVC!🤩

We kicked things off by celebrating three of our amazing veterinarians with a beautiful baby shower, with lots of love to go around! Our team also dove headfirst into some incredible hands-on training, including CPR instruction led by Dr. Greenwood, Medical Director at GQ Emergency and Specialty Center. Her expertise helped our team refresh life-saving skills that make all the difference, as well as prepare us to participate in the CPR battle next week.

Our doctors expanded their diagnostic abilities with focused ultrasound training, while our technicians worked on precision skills during ultrasound-guided cystocentesis sessions. We’re always learning, because your pets deserve nothing but the best care.✨

Of course, it wouldn’t be QCVC without a little fun. Jurassic Park Smile Day brought dino-sized joy to the clinic, complete with a prehistoric scavenger hunt that had the whole team roaring with laughter.🦖

And throughout the month, we had the pleasure of seeing some absolutely adorable patients — from snuggly cats and loyal pups to charming exotic pets. We’re so grateful for every tail wag, purr, and squeak that walks through our doors.❤️🐾

Thanks for sharing your furry (and not-so-furry) family with us — we can’t wait to see what August brings!

Meet Dr. Capell!🤩🤍
Dr. Capell has been a valued part of the Queen Creek Vet Clinic team for nearly two years, beginning as a 5th year and now making a lasting impact as a full-time doctor.
She’s passionate about educating pet owners, especially when it comes to senior pet care. One myth she wants to bust? That older pets can’t have dental procedures. She says it can be done safely- and it’s essential for their long-term health!
Dr. Capell sees a lot of allergy cases, dental disease, and osteoarthritis in her patients- and she treats them all with empathy and care.
At home, she’s mom to Shay the pup and two lovely cats, Fern and Clover. When she’s not at the clinic, you might find her hiking, reading, traveling, or cooking up something delicious. And… she’s expecting her first baby soon! 💕👶🏼
We’re lucky to have her!
