We grew a lot of onions this year. I mean A LOT! But it’s one of my favorite crops to grow and I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. Thank you for helping me get these out of the field today!

Did you know that each individual spinach leaf at Greenhouse Gardens is harvested by hand? Using just our fingers, we squeeze and pull each stem to pop the leaf off unharmed. We then carefully wash and bag the fresh spinach so it is ready for you at our farmer's market on Saturday. Grab a bag (or two) from the market fridge this weekend.

The Greenhouse Gardens farmer's market is open this Saturday from 9 am to noon. It's the first market of the new season and we are excited to welcome everyone back. We are so excited that we spoke with Mother Nature and ordered up a solar eclipse (10:30 am) to celebrate the grand reopening. We will be harvesting a lot of fresh vegetables this week so the market tables will be stocked. Click above to see our complete list of produce.

It’s fun to see a little mushroom pop up in the greenhouse next to one of the cucumbers. We aim to promote an environment for plants to thrive, which means also encouraging lots of biological and fungal diversity.

I’ve been encouraging the dogs to stay inside their air-conditioned dog house on these hot days. They prefer to be outside with the flock, but it’s just not safe in 115+ degrees. Bandit in particular hates not being able to hear/see/smell what’s going on, so he lays with just his nose peeking out the doggy door.

Trialed a few new garlic varieties this year. I’m loving the coloring on this one! Bogatyr garlic is known for its fiery, raw heat that diminishes quickly to a mild and pleasant flavor. What do you think? Is it a keeper?
