Every year I choose a word to focus on. For 2025, the word is “steadfast”.
💠 Steadfast:
adjective
resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.
We can learn a lot through the Lord’s steadfast love for us 🩵 We can also apply that steadfast love to the people and horses in our life. 🩵
Happy 2025! Choose 1 word you want to focus on this year and share it in the comments ⬇️

I heard this at a recent training: “Horses and neurodivergent people both have a much shorter path to fight 💪or flight 🏃♀️”.
Horses “spook” at unknown or unfamiliar stimuli and neurodivergent individuals react strongly to change of routine or unpleasant sensory input, for example.
It’s fascinating how horses are so similar to people, and how we can constantly learn from each other.
Do you agree that horses and neurodivergent people share the commonality of having a shorter path to fight or flight? Share your thoughts ⬇️

Here’s an interesting topic that’s been brought up recently: what type of horse makes a great therapy horse (specifically for non mounted type work)?
I personally value a sensitive or emotionally intelligent horse over any physical quality they may have.
Scroll through the slides to read more about examples of what I mean by this...
What do you look for in a horse? ⬇️

Everyone starts somewhere with horses. Maybe you:
✅ Bought your first horse at age 40+
✅ Started riding at age 5
✅ Worked your way into the horse world because you weren’t ‘born into it’
Wherever your story starts, I want to hear it! Here’s your chance to share in the comments where you started, and where you’re at now ⬇️

To the 90% of my followers who never interact, I ask, who are you? Where do you live? What do you do? Do you have pets?😂 ❤️

Here’s why we don’t compete….Alma Vida Horse Ranch focuses on relationship building & connection with horses through equine assisted learning and horse therapy ♥️ We emphasize going slow & taking our time to learn each horse’s personality and quirks. One thing that sets us apart from most other equine programs is that we DONT put pressure on anyone to perform, compete, or “do” anything that they’re not ready for. We DO encourage our students to advocate for themselves and go at a pace that they feel comfortable with 🙌We have morning availability from 7am-11am starting soon. DM us today to book your spot. We are an ESA approved vendor!
